This review was for back when this dentist, Guy Mendevil, was in Mission Viejo. He is a conartist and a gold digger. When I was 14 he told me and my mom that I had an overbite. When the xray did not show it, he had his assistant "mike" tell us that I needed another xray because I was compensating for my overbite as I was conscious about it. So he had Mike push my lower jaw back with a lot of force and was asked to hold it that way for the xray. 14 and naïve I knew something was wrong but didn't say anything or realize what was going on. Years later, now that I'm in the medical profession I know that's not how you do an overbite xray. He basically wanted to prove I had an overbite so that he could charge us exorbitant amounts of money for treatment I did not need.
Also he did not clean his equipment. I got Herpes type I (the one for cold sores) on my gums! I went in to see him and he is the one who told me that and said "I probably got it from kissing someone". I was at the time embarrassed that I'd never had a boyfriend and had never kissed anyone so didn't say anything. No one in my family has ever had cold sores, and no one in school that I was friends with had it either. And even if they did, I should get it on my lips not gums!!!
Not to mention, now I have major recession of teeth because he basically pulled all my teeth outward because of the overbite treatment.
He is the true definition of someone who uses patients to make money. Patients are only objects or means of him filling up his bank about without thought of consequences. He has no morals and is by his actions an extremely evil person. Someone who causes harm to others just to make money. Horrible.

Dr. Mendivil did an amazing job on my daughter's ortho treatment. Her smile is beautiful and will last a life time. His fees are fair and he offers affordable payment plans. I would highly recommend this facility. The staff is super friend and helpful.
