Unfortunately my wife and siblings have had similarly negative experiences over the years that only recently FINALLY reached the point where we switched dentists. Our primary issues were:
- Repeated fillings issues (need to be replaced, replaced again, and eventually a full crown is the only option...much more involved and expensive)
- near constant upselling into more expensive procedures (veneers, etc)
- 1 somewhat-botched root canal
Maybe our experiences were not typical. Ask around before you consider this dentist.
About Hygienist: The hygienists in charge of general cleanings were very capable and friendly.

I've been going to Dr. G (and his son Dr. Joe) for over 15 years. Until recently, I've been very satisfied. The office is small, but impeccably neat and clean. Over the past several years, many upgrades and improvements have been added (like digital x-rays). The entire staff is exceptionally nice and friendly. Having never really liked going to the dentist, they recognize this and have taken extra care over the years to make me comfortable (not switching my hygenist, fully explaining any procedures, etc.).
Recently, they have bought/opened another practice in Wayland. I'm happy for them, and they are doing well, but I feel it's spread the two Dr.s a little thin, at least in the Boston office. Neither doctor was available in the office at either of my last 2 appointments, regular 6-month cleanings (so it will be over 1 1/2 years between having the actual dentist see my teeth!). Hopefully, they are still just working out the kinks of opening a second office and this will fix itself in the future.

I had horrible crooked and chipped front teeth since I was 12 and chipped my front tooth on a theme park ride. I went in at 26 and he fixed it right up. The way he worked on them, my teeth look completely straight and perfect! I get compliments on my smile all the time. I would not hesitate to recommend this dentist. I am upset because I'm moving out of state. Excellent service, work and atmosphere.

I started seeing Dr Giangrasso about 10 years ago when I was working in Boston. He's located right on Hanover street in the north end. I won't go anywhere else even though I live and work in the suburbs now. Dr Giangrasso's son joined the team about 4 years ago and the office has a really warm family feel. They know you there. I recently started orthodontal treatment. After the initial x-rays my orthodontist went out of their way to comment positively on the dental care my teeth have received. In particular I have several caps which could affect my ortho treatment and the dentist went out of their way to comment on the quality of the work done on them.

People were nice but I think extra work was done and I left in pain.
