Dr. Maloney is a friendly and intelligent dentist. His laid back approach is soothing, and the no-frills, friendly receptionist is also welcoming. He cleaned my teeth for many years.
During that time, I noticed that one of my teeth had been turning black. Because he is so laid-back, he said it was probably a filling that had discolored the tooth and didn't do any further testing (I had 4 other fillings with no discoloration). When I finally had pain, years later, and got an x-ray, it turned out that my tooth was dead. What's more, the top notch doctor who performed root canal said the tooth had been dead for many, many years.
Dr. Maloney, when confronted, said it was my fault for not wanting to spend money on x-rays (he did plenty of x-rays other times). It turns out that he could have done a free cold test which determines whether the tooth is alive or not. With more modern equipment and a little less laid-backedness, he would be a much better dentist.

He was my dentist for about 4-5 years. I absolutely loved him. If I still lived in Brookline, he would definitely be MY dentist.. Go see for yourself, right on the "C" line

He is calm , funny, personable and highly competent. A real give away is that his very helpful staff really likes him and have been with him for years.
About Hygienist: He doea everything including the cleaning himself.

Dr. Maloney is the best dentist I have ever been to. He and Heidi, his assistant treat their patients very well and I trust them completely. I moved an hour from Boston but still make the trip in to see Dr.Maloney because he is so good.

Great Dentist. Very warm and freindly. I came to his office after some really shoddy work from 2 other dentists.
He listened, did what I asked thoroughly and quickly.
Good follow up too.

The dentist himself, Dr Maloney actually cleans your teeth (not the hygenist.) He is great, personable, warm, friendly, thorough and very trustworthy. I recommend him to everyone I know. GREAT denstist!
