Read Reviews for Dr. Lorna Lally
I had not seen a dentist for several years, and chose this one because it was nearby. I've had several appointments in a row. Before I went, I found almost no reviews of the Lally office on the internet, but I think it's because it was a small practice. Recently the office expanded and is taking new patients. It's extremely clean and the waiting room is comfy. I feel welcome and un-anxious every time.
Everyone who works there is very kind, serene, and professional -- the chairside assistant might throw in a joke!
The work I need ranges from filling small cavities to very complicated things. The doctor spent a lot of time explaining my xrays in terms I could understand, the recommended treatment plan, and what I could safely put off for a while. I may need a root canal, but the doctor did a more conservative treatment for now and discussed symptoms for which I should be on the alert.
The reception/billing clerk seems to know about all the prevailing insurance plans, and explains my deductibles and what the plan does and does not cover.
I will update this review as I have more appointments.
About Hygienist: Very competent hygienist, Zara, worked quickly and painlessly to perform both the evaluation and cleaning, and my teeth felt smooth and clean afterwards.

Dr. Lally used to be my primary dentist and has now left the practice to strike out on her own, from what I can tell. She cleaned my teeth and also fixed a chipped front tooth. She was very friendly, accommodating, and did not lecture me in any way, shape, or form. Procedures had fixed prices from my insurance agency, but were reasonable. She was very relaxing; there was no pain.
What I liked best about Dr. Lally's demeanor was that I never felt like she was trying to sell me procedures that were more expensive than alternatives. For example, rather than asking me to get a crown to replace a broken filling, she said she might be able to fix the filling at about 1/3 the cost of a crown ($300 vs. $1000). I was very grateful for that and for her honest opinion.
I'm hoping to track her down and make her my primary dentist again soon.

Dr. Lorna Lally is the best dentist I've ever seen. I met her at the first time in Dental Services PC in Cambridge. She took care of my teeth professionally. I fully satified. I then was told that she was no longer worked there, so I searched her online and found her dental service office in 57 College Avenue, Somerville, MA. I immidiately made the appointment. She is very professional, kind and paitent. If you are looking for a dentist, I fully recommend you to see her.

Dr Lally is an excellent dentist. I am not a fan of dentistry in general, but she made it easy. She also worked with me to see what the best options were, based on my insurance plan. And she never failed to keep me informed minute-by-minute of what she was doing and why. I had a lot of work that I needed done, and she spaced my appointments accordingly. When all the work was done I was happy with the results, and thrilled that my insurance company held the majority of the cost. There were no surprises. I would reccommend her to anyone.

I went to two other dentists before I found Dr. Lally (in Cambridge, not in Charlestown) on a friend's recommendation and was very happy that I did so! (I never thought it'd be so difficult to find a confidence-inspiring dentist around here...) She's efficient, gentle, friendly, and very professional. I needed a filling, and it was painless and stress-free. I plan on staying with her for as long as I'm in the area.
