Read Reviews for Dr. Mark Sivers
I had mostly cleanings and he filled two cavities for me. Very very polite and professional. He is very passionate about preventative health and eager to help you prevent further damage. You can tell that he wants you to feel very comfortable and will do whatever he can do to make your experience more comfortable. The one down side is that it was expensive and you have to pay up front and then they bill the insurance for you which will reimburse you. But if you have money and want to go to a really high quality dentist I cannot recommend Dr. Sivers enough.

Seems to be conscientious and caring. Also seems competant (though that is hard for me to assess). However, his charges are extraordinarily high. Comparing his charges with the average charges for similar work in Boston (based on data that I found on line) his charges appear to be above the 95th percentile for this area.

I put off dental care for 18 months until I found someone I could trust--important since I can't evaluate the work in my mouth until it goes wrong. Medical doctors recommended Dr. Sivers, and I figured they would know what they were talking about. He is outstanding--explains every aspect of care, takes time necessary to do work thoroughly, and available in an emergency. He listens to my concerns and answers my many questions. My teeth tend to crack and abscess, necessitating multiple root canals. Dr. Sivers has been aggressive about saving my teeth, where another dentist might have given up by now and started yanking them. (He also fitted me with a night guard to avoid future cracks.) He is very careful about ensuring a good fit with the crowns that follow root canals. Dr. Sivers is very interested in the latest scientific developments and new technology. When I selected a dentist, I chose him over someone nearing retirement. A friend chose the other dentist. Dr. Sivers ultimately had to redo all the work for my friend. (He has also redone bad work done on me by another dentist.) Staff is friendly, helpful, and organized. The entire office is very reliable. If I ever move, I will fly back to Dr. Sivers for my care!

Dr. Sivers is very friendly, the front desk staff arehelpful, the hygienists are good and this is a very well organized office. However, I (and others who have gone to him) have found him to be overly aggressive in recommending expensive dental work. On more than one occasion, what should have been a simple procedure turned into a series of painful and costly (time and money) procedures that involved referrals to his colleague, Dr. Melcer.

Tends to recommend the most expensive treatment. Get a second opinion before committing to any treatment plan.

Dr. Sivers is an extremely proficient, caring, and professional dentist. After having horrible past dental experiences, I was afraid to go to the dentist. However, when I went to see Dr. Sivers, he was the most gentle dentist I have ever had, and my initial consultation was thorough. He wrote down all of the things that needed and/or could be done to improve my teeth and he was very clear about the costs. He was patient, answering all of my questions. I have had a root canal re-done through Charles River Dental with Dr. Sivers as my primary dentist, as well as several years of regular dental work. Unfortunately, I recently moved away from the area, but I intend to have only dental hygiene treatments in the new city where I now live, and will definitely keep Dr. Sivers as my primary dentist. I will be sure to have my dental work done when I visit Boston. That is how excellent he is.
