Dr. Hauschka has done several fillings (including a few requiring special inserts in my molars) and generally taken care of my teeth for years. I would guess that I have seen her over 10 times. She no charged me for a few minor items of work, such as removing a discoloration or correcting the surface of a new filling (it's a small thing but it can get very painful!). I did think, based on a conversation with a co-worker at the time whose wife is a dental hygienist, that I was charged a good amount above suburbia average for the more serious work I had done. She is very experienced and knew all about my teeth's propensity without my need for a lengthy explanation. She made me feel very comfortable. My family is full of teeth and gum issues, including congenital tooth root issues, so I have always gone to good dentists. She was like them, only much NICER. She's not effusive or cuddly, but she is professional and pleasant. I have referred my hubby to her, and she also saw my mother on an emergency basis during a visit, and both were very pleased.
I am writing this review to review other dentists, as Dr. H no longer accepts insurance, and after a disappointing conversation with my insurance carrier I need to change dentis
About Hygienist: My usual hygienist, Kathleen, is very good, but not the la-di-da cheery type (if that's what you need). Her cleanings are thorough and effective, but do not traumatize my mouth. I did have a cleaning with another hygenist at Dr. H's office who, whoever, made by gums hypersensitive for days. I must have repressed her name. Also, the X-ray machine has caused me some pain and serious & unpleasant gagging. I have to wonder if there's not a way to avoid going through that...
I know this doctor: about 5-6 years
