I'm glad he retired! I didn't know just how bad he was until I went to a new dentist. It's now so obvious that he was only after the $$$$
About Front Desk: They were friendly but I do believe Dr. Kodeck made his staff uncomfortable.

I'm surprised this man still has patients. What a nasty, miserable man. I'm in the process of getting 2 brand new crowns because the ones that he put on were done improperly. Causing my teeth to bleed and hurt on and off for the past few years. He was rude to me pretty much every time I saw him. Terrible people skills.

This dentist is the worst, from the front staff, to his "bedside manner", to the fact that they don't have a fax machine! What office in 2012 doesn't have a fax machine??
The woman at the front desk was very rude and short with me. Once I was seated in the chair, it took Dr. Kodeck 30 minutes to finally see me, and my chair was visible to the entire waiting room... When he finally did come in, I tried to explain that I had a serious fear of dentists, doctors, needles, etc, but he didn't hear a word I said. He just opened my mouth, said I needed a root canal and my wisdom teeth extracted, and to see the front desk for more information. Then he walked out of the room without a second glance.
I will never go back to this dentist.

On my first (and last) visit, Dr. Kodeck was rude, had NO chair-side manners. He asked if I flossed and when I said no, it all went downhill. He proceeded to roughly clean the plaque and jabbed me numerous times. When I complained about the pain, he told me, in a very gruff manner, if I had flossed, my gums would not be so sore, then told me I no doubt would have to see a periodontist and IF I was lucky they MIGHT save my teeth. He said this in such a nasty way. It's a good thing I have insurance because if I had to pay for those services, he would never get paid. I would NEVER recommend this dentist to others.

This doctor has no"bed-side manner". He has no personality or sense of humor. He talks down to you, like your'e stupid. I had a root canal and he couldnt finish it, so I was sent elsewhere, where an additional cost was incurred by me. I only use him because of the crappy insurance I have.

Has taken phone calls from an adult daughter 3 different times during my appointments.
Often cold and impersonal. He seems to do pretty good work and I was never kept waiting.
The last appointment I had with him happened to be scheduled for 4 PM on a Jewish Holiday Friday and he had already left for the day! No one bothered to change the appointment. It would seem that the Jewish holidays should have been noted in his appointment book so patients were not scheduled for these times.

Dentist didnt even introduce himself to me, he came in tapped on my tooth and said "crown it or pull it" and left. I am not inclined to return here.

I have only been to Dr. Kodeck for routine dental appointments. The dentist comes in pretty quickly after your teeth are cleaned and he is out before you know it. I don't have much I can say about him other than he is quick and will review if you have any concerns. I have never had to sit an extended amt of time in the waiting room like I have at some other places - but again I've only been there a couple times. My husband has had similar experiences and has even had a tooth removed. He didn't have any complaints either. The one thing I wish they did differently was appointments. I like to go to the dentist routinely every 6 mos. It would be much easier for me to keep my routine if they either allowed you to make your next appointment while you were in the office or if they sent out reminder cards. Both of these practices I have seen with other doctors/dentists. This office, if I remember correctly, won't let you make an appointment any sooner than 3 months in advance and you have to remember to do it on your own. If you don't call right away you may not get in the week or the month that you would like to. I have a system that works for me - but if you're forgetful and not calendar oriented - their system is not the bes
About Hygienist: Wonderful - it's funny b/c both my husband and I commented to each other that her teeth cleaning was the best we've ever had. She is so thorough! She will even review brushing and flossing skills. I will continue to go there - if even just to have her clean my teeth - she is that good! - (note: there may be more than one hygienist - I can't remember.)
