I went to this Dr's office for two identical pprocedures, one before the first of the year and one after. I asked both times if they took my insurance and if the procedures were covered. they toold me yes. The first one was, the second time the insurance had changed and very shortly after the procedure they told me I would have to pay hundreds of dollars for it and that thy had been having this problem with "lots" of people with my insurance. I still have no clue as to why they didn't tell me this prior to me having the procedure. I started disputing the issue with my insurance company and the dentist office turned the matter over to not 1 but 2 collection agencies simultaneously. I paid the ammount to one and requested the dentist office inform the other that they had been paid. The office never did and it took many letters/phone calls, and an enormous ammount of time to get the second company to remove the issue from my credit report when a call from the dentists office confirming payment could have done it in one day. What a horrible experience and to top it off my tooth still hurts so i will probably have to go get the work redone. If you go here don't trust what their medical billing office staff says.

He seems to get enraged over really simple things and it makes you very uncomfortable when you're sitting in his chair while he has a tantrum while he has a drill in his hand. And its happened on two different occasions. I found another dentist. You should too.

About Hygienist: She was great. No problems here. But the dentist should be avoided at all costs.

I had my front upper teeth veneered. He has a new office in college park that is beautiful and very spa like! His staff could not have been more helpful and nice. They all did a great job! Never before have I had such an easy venture with a dental office!! If you are scared or pain sensitive, I would highly recommend Dr Alexander!

Things started out good, pleasant staff. However things went downhill rather quickly. The staff is over worked and stressed. It took 3 visits for them to correct my name in their system; it took 1 year to receive an itemized statement for the work. When compared to my previous dentist Alexanders prices are high. Although he was highly recommended I stopped going there. The office manager is unprofessional after the initial visit, complaining how she is overworked and just doesn't have time to call insurance companies and put together a statement, Dr. Alexander is expensive and the whole experience became very stressful. For someone who charges on the high end for procedures and especially ones that are traditionally not covered by insurance you would think they would have had a software program that would itemize their statements. They finally got one but that was after a year of requesting one. It was a big relief when I stopped going there and returned to my previous dentist, even though he is now further away. He is gentle, knowledgeable, and up to date, is less expensive and has a professional larger staff. I was a relief to stop seeing Alexander and his staff.

In two years of dental care: I have had an incredibly painful rear tooth filling go bad after less than a year. Dr. Alexander also proceeded with care that was not covered by my dental insurance without informing me, at a cost of over $300. Then, on my next visit, when I inquired how much the visit would cost, and whether it would be covered, the receptionist could not give me any estimate. Poor care, painful procedures, thoughtless and rude employees, and a filthy office (over a college bookstore) that smells like stale cigarettes. Stay away. Stay far away.

About Hygienist: The hygienist was pleasant and reasonably thorough, although the "routine" 360 degree x-ray was unnecessary, expensive, and not covered by insurance.

Very pleasant and very patient. Good facilities and very accomodating staff. Made the dentist "not scary." I have reccomended him to several friends and family.
