If you are going to this dentist, then watch out for this pattern in which he does business. I won't comment whether this is right ot wrong; I will leave it to the reader's discretion. 1. You visit his clinic for a bi-annual dental cleaning that is covered 100% by your insurance. He will give you a warm welcome and see you only to let you know that it was a new patient exam and insurance will pay 100% of it and you don't have to worry about payment. However, he will recommend for a 'DEEP CLEANING'. 2. If you insist that you just need to do the 'regular', bi-annual cleaning that is covered by the insurance, he will persuade you not to do that and advise for a 'DEEP CLEANING'. If you insist that you don't want the 'DEEP CLEANING', then he will get irritated and say that you may find another dentist. This is the ONLY OPPORTUNITY to withdraw your intent or request for service. If you proceed with some doubt in mind about the necessity of the deep cleaning, he will make you fork out $900+.
