I was sent to Dr. Portell for a very tricky root canal. My dentist referred me to him saying he was the best in town and great with nervous patients.
My dentist was right. Dr. Portell was excellent - very calm, not in rush and took time to make me feel comfortable before, during and after the procedure. He was very concerned about how I felt and wanted to ensure I was not in pain. He was thorough and even asked me to call him after the procedure to update him on how I was doing.
He seems very dedicated to his work and sincerely cares about his patients. And the best part is I had almost no pain throughout the entire procedure&.I was very anxious, but found him to be great a administering Novocain; he proactively used enough and waited until it was sure to take hold.
I thought his price was competitive, his office was nice (not plush) but you dont need that for a root canal. The staff all seemed friendly and accommodating.
I highly recommend Dr. Portell.

Dr. Portell presents with dedication, experience, and is highly skilled in his field. My anxiety was put to rest with explanation of the problem followed by a thorough explanation of the remedy procedure. Office and equipment are clean, modern. Chair Assistant and office staff are friendly. Overall atmosphere, pleasant. Charges, moderate.

This endodontist is awesome. My daughter had a great deal of trauma to her two front teeth. Dr. Portell was professional, kind, diligent and patient. We could not recommend him more highly.
