After utilizing this office ~ Dentistry for You, Steven Deem DDS, for over a year and a half I do not recommend this Dental practice. Office manager Andrea was rude and incompetent to us and because of her my husband and I left this practice today. I hope others are not treated as we were at this office. She overcharges and then hedges siting non-existent HIPAA billing and payment regulations to avoid addressing the issues. Andrea appears to enjoy putting customers off, has little to no customer service skills, and does not appear to care for the patients at this office. I ALWAYS handle the medical billing/payment issues for my husband and this is the first medical facility ever that refused to work with me citing HIPAA as an excuse. HIPAA does not require written permission to discuss payment or billing information with family or friends. Individual practices can however choose to require that information themselves and we found out today from Dr. Deem himself and the office lady that that is how this practice chooses to roll.
About Hygienist: Hygenist is great and Dr. Deem's dental work is very good. I hated to have to leave the practice but the major customer service issues we experienced with this practice are not at all acceptable or tolerable. The office manager's behavior was reprehensible and there is no excuse for it. Dr. Deems seemed to take her side on this issue so look out if you want to work with these people. If you get overcharged like we did you may well end up getting the worst treatment you have ever received in your life from the woman running this dental practice. July 31, 2012
