Read Reviews for Dr. Douglas Watanabe
I had the great opportunity to be employed by Dr Watanabe for close to 14 years. I was one of his hygienists.
Not only is his workmanship excellent, but he is someone I admire professionally and personally.
He is spot on with his knowledge and skills. He is a kind, giving, caring, and understanding person.
I have worked with many different dentists over the years and seen many other dentists' work. He is by far one of THE BEST dentists in the St. Louis area.
I knew of patients who had moved overseas and still would
come back to have dental procedures with Dr Watanabe.
Am I biased? NO. Just truthful....
I moved out of the St. Louis area, therefore only see him now as a patient.....
No one compares to Dr Watanabe.!

Dr. Watanabe has done my dental work for 15 years. He is very professional and concerned about his patients. I know of several patients who have moved away but fly back to St. Louis just to see Dr. Watanabe. His dental work is great, I have had no problems with any of it. His office staff are friendly and helpful.

Dr Wantanabe is absolutely the best dentist in the world! He works w/ cowards like me who have phobias about dentists and procedures. He is very nice, professional and upfront. He's also understanding about how the fear of dentists can affect people. His wonderful chairside manner is the reason I am able to see a dentist now

Dr. Watanabe was/is known in town as an expensive, but very good dentist. This is why I trusted him (and his junior associate) with the crowns on my front teeth.
One of the teeth was nearly ruined the associate. For some reason, the associate saw it fit to greatly widen the tooth's root canal, hardly leaving any tooth tissue to build upon; and to cement into it a very short post (which, years later, had to be completely redone, with the risk of breaking and loosing the front tooth.) From that point on, Dr. Watanabe was the one working on it.
Dr. Watanabe's crowns were great, cosmetically. However, in the following years, they've been falling off at the most socially inappropriate moments, 7 or 8 times. Dr. Watanabe blamed it on my bite. He's cemented them back at no charge for about 6 times, then he refused to do any further dental work for free. At which point I changed the dentist. The new dentist did not find any problems with my bite. He redid the crowns from scratch (a few thousand $$ out of my pocket). The new crowns were not nearly as pretty, but they stayed put.
