I have been a patient of Dr. Tans for about 3 years now. His staff is very wonderful, caring and knowledgable. His office looks professionally decorated, and is stocked with the latest up to date equipment. As far as stress, what dentist visit isn't stressful?!? I also found his fees to be comparable with those others in the same area. (Charlotte isn't cheap, and you get what you pay for) Overall, His office is great. Its the total packeage, and I recommend him to anyone who will listen!

I 've been going to Dr. Tans for my checkups and cleanings for about 5 years. Dr. Tans is a consumate professional. His staff has always been pleasant, capable and confident. Billing is always efficent and accurate. The office is the cleanenst I've ever seen. I now live in Georgia and plan to stay with Dr. Tans!

Nice office and staff... seems to recommend a lot of procedures. Hard to know if all are really necessary

I had deep cleanings and a crown put in by Dr. Tans. I wasn't sure I really needed the cleanings....the crown seems okay and I thought Dr. Tans was very caring and sensitive in how he handled my mouth.

My name is Sandra, and I have returned after several years of living in other states to seek out Dr. Tans to be my family dentist again. Back in 1987 I went to Dr.Tans when he was located off of Rama Road. I had recently received a crown by a dentist in West Virginia while I was in college which was giving me a lot of pain and I new that something was not done properly. I found Dr. Tans in the phone book as he was close to my home at that time and during my visit with him he explained that this crown was not administered properly. Guess what? I had the crown replaced by Dr. Tans and still today and have had no problems. He continued to be my dentist while living in Charlotte. Returning to Charlotte about one and a half years ago I went about seeking out Dr. Tans for myself and my family as I would recommend him as he and his staff are both professional and instructive in caring for the needs of his patients. Dr. Tans ROCKS!!!

I went to see Dr. Tans for a cleaning and check up, and also had some cosmetic work done. I felt his staff was very nice and professional. I felt he was very conservative about needed treatment, and I felt his prices were very in line with the surrounding area. I will definitely be back to see him again, and recommend him to my friends.

I went to see Dr. Tans for a routine cleaning and after that he said I had uge problems and several crowns were needed for a total of $13000!!!!!!!.
Of course I went to see another Dr. and the result is that nothing urgent is necessary, I may need a crown within the next 2 years.
Another issue I had with Dr. Tans was about payment, he always try to charg me the adjustment that the insurance did on his very expensive bills.
Be carefull it looks to me that is to much $$$$$$$ oriented.

I went here for a routine cleaning and x-rays, which the hygenist was very professional and plesant. However, when Dr. Tans came to evaluate my teeth, he "added" numerous procedures to my list. He recommended and wanted to schedule various treatments that would end up costing me (with insurance already included) over $5000!!!!! I went to the dentist back home (myrtle beach) 6 months prior and was told my teeth were in great shape! Could they have change so much in 6 months or did a dentist want extra $$$? Either way I didn't go back!

While his support staff has been incredibly helpful, I would not recommend Dr. Tans. He improperly filled two fillings that have resulted in two root canals. I feel that he rushed through the treatments and now I have to have additional work done. When I went back to him with severe pain right after the fillings, he dismissed my symptoms and did not examine what could be causing my discomfort. It wasn't until I went to another dentist out of sheer frustration and extreme pain that the improper fillings were discovered.
