Dr. Polhemus is very nice and does a great job; however, the one and only time we had a true emergency, his appointment staff was less than helpful at getting my mother (who had seen him before) in for treatment. It was close to a holiday, which made things more hectic understandably, but her tooth was broken, VERY jagged and needed immediate attention. Since she was on blood thinners and could bleed to death very easily if her tooth cut her tongue or mouth, my opinion was that she should be seen quickly. After a couple of days, I finally gave up, called another office, who saw her the next day, and had the repair done in less than 20 minutes. My mother and I BOTH stopped going to him as a result. Perhaps they didn't deem it as "necessary" as we did, but, if so, they don't understand the seriousness of anticoagulant therapy and need to educate themselves. It should also be noted that he doesn't do his own root canals, which many dentists do themselves. I went to an endodontist and paid $600 for a root canal -- by the time we paid for my husband's dental & endo bills, it was about $2,000 thru Polhemus' office.
As long as you can guarantee no emergencies in your future & can schedule well in advance, you'll be just fine.

He is the best in Raleigh and surrounding area.
My family (7 of us) all receives care from him to include my granddaughter, his newest patient, that is 3 years old.
I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a family dentist. There is no pain involved and if so, the staff and Dr. P. are quick to act.
The front desk has gone through some changes through-out the years. Currently the staff is Ok, but could still use a bit more of common courtesy. However, after having Rosemary, anything is an improvement.

Dr. David Polhemus is the best dentist. He is very respectful of his patients concerns, listens carefully, takes time to explain technical procedures, is thorough yet gentle. Dr. Polhemus has a cordial manner and generates a confident, comforting energy. The office is immaculate and well appointed. My husband and I highly recommend this dental practice. We can't imagine seeing anyone else for our dental care.
About Hygienist: Dr. Polhemus' administrative and technical staff are the best. We always feel welcome and well cared for during visits. The technical staff are respectful of our time, are thorough yet gentle and genuinely interested in our comfort and health. The front office staff efficiently answer questions and process insurance as well as return calls in a timely manner.

My wife, 2 children and I have been seeing Dr Polhemus for more them 10 years. His service and staff are great. My wife has sensitive teeth and tried another dentist that was recomended by friends about 3 years ago and found out how good Dr Polhemus's staff is. She has stayed with Dr Polhemus ever since.
About Hygienist: The Hygienists are great. Very nice and very gentile. Good with children too.

I have been seeing Dr Polhemus since moving to raleigh with my family when I was younger. He has a very kind staff and they really care about the health of my teeth and gums. I was unhappy with the way one of my teeth stuck out, so in a very quick and painless appointment, he fixed it to match the rest of my teeth perfectly! Their office is beautiful, clean, and has the latest technology. Im always very comfortable when I visit, and would definitely recommend him to my friends and loved ones.
