The original dentists at Groton/Willimantic Dental retired and didn’t inform their patients. You found out when you went for your next appointment when a new dentist walked in. Before Dr. Dougherty retired he said I needed a crown. It’s bothered me ever since he did it (8 months) and food always gets caught beneath. I don’t want to go back to them since the new dentist said it would be a problem to fix it. My insurance said any new crown on that tooth will be denied so I have to pay for it. Thanks a lot Groton/Willimantic Dental.

I was attempting to establish a relationship with a local dentist for my family, I had an emergency toothache and was seen by this "dentist" , --- While he did treat one of the effected areas efficiently he did not cure the problems as is often the case when diagnosing these things, understandable of course. Upon return and under the recommendation of an oral surgeon the tooth ultimately was extracted from an Oral surgeon. When I returned for follow up visit - he became enraged, completely unprofessional, rude, outrageously raised his voice angry and refused to even treat me for followup of the extraction. "stating I don't clean up other doctors messes" those words from HIS mouth. I realize this sounds crazy but honestly although he didn't pull the tooth and I understand in principle what he was saying, he said if I had it pulled, he wouldn"t fix it was a dry socket packing I was asking for and had more appts. with his office for future work on me & my family. He was simply outraged that I pulled the tooth he had put the filling in and was indignant, explosive, and quite frankly scolded me. He may have alot of credentials for surgical implants but honestly, someone should remind him that practice of medicine is to cure & heal.

About Hygienist: The Hygienists within the office where professional, kind and caring, I was so comfortable with them, until the "Doctor who felt he was too good to pack a dry socket from another doctor engulfed his rage", the two Hygienists in the room appeared as equally as shocked as I was and nervous even as I completely reminded him I would pay for packing to aid in the healing, had seen the other dentists as well and had more appointments, As I even type this I still wonder what happens to a doctor that allows them to forget the simple Oath of healing - someone should clear up his mess - Maybe remind him why he became a doctor - Or maybe it was for the almighty buck, none the less this really did happen as I still shake my head.
