Dr. Mieger is extremely personable and complimetnary of her patient's teeth. I went to her for almost 2 years for basic cleanings and no problems. When one of my crowns chipped I made an appointment and she managed to inflict more pain than I have ever felt before. It resulted in me having to get a root canal and visit another dentist. She also made a night guard for me that never fit well, she refused to fix it and said I needed to get a new one. I had to pay this out of pocket. I have hence read similar reviews about her practice. Wish I would have known about what a horrible dentist she was.

While service and attitude is great, performance isn't. Couple caps have fallen out, cavity missed, etc. There always seems to be WAY too many patients in the office and the dentist spend only a couple minutes with each one. So, mistakes, haste, etc has been common and this type of service is not acceptable.

I had major problems with doctor Mieger. She put a filling in my tooth that fell out three times. I finally switched to a different dentist in her practice who told me that this sort of thing happens to her often! Since then, I had to get a root canal in the tooth because it had decayed so much due to the loose filling. Ugh.

Dr. Lynn Mieger is great. She has very strong dental skills and a very lovely personality to go with it. She takes time to explain procedures in advance and time to ask patients for questions in return. She is very good about following up if you do have a problem, to make sure that pain has ceased, or problem stopped. The office is very basic, not "spa like" in any way, but probably typical for an office in such a great central location, like the Financial District.

Dr Mieger has a very easy-going style but she's also very professional and is, in my opinion, a very good dentist.

What other great stuff can I say about Dr Meiger and her staff that hasn't been said? She is the absolute best! In 6 years of visits I have received absolutely stellar care each and every time. I recently had my first crown and root canal - before the process started I was terrified but Dr. Meiger's always sunny disposition and "chairside" humor made me at ease through the whole thing. She sent me to an equally awesome oral surgeon for the root canal (Dr. Brown - he was so calming I actually fell asleep!). If I ever move from the Bay Area, I'll be scheduling my dental appointments to coincide with visits back here. No way I'd give her up just because of a little thing like moving away!

Dr. Mieger and another dentist in her office took out a crown that I had for 20+ years. The new "permanent" crown that they put in immediately caused me problems. It fell out twice over the next year and I was occassionally in pain. It turned out that my tooth had cracked. I do attribute this to when the dentists were trying to pull out my original crown which they had a lot of difficulty doing. Bottom line: I had to have the tooth pulled out and am currently in the process of having a titanium implant put in and will require a new crown. Will any of this be done by Dr. Mieger? No. Will dental insurance cover the new crown? No, because a "new permanent" one was put in within the past 5 years. In addition, my new dentist has noticed a lot of problems with my teeth. So even though Dr. Mieger often said my teeth were looking "fabulous" they were not in fact "fabulous."

I have been seeing Dr. Meiger for 20 years. Service has always been excellent and her staff is also quite pleasant. I acually like getting my teeth cleaned. I had a minor problem a few weeks ago over the July 4th holiday and she returned my call immediately. She is also quite gentle and I have had all of my major work done by her. She rocks!!!
