Just started seeing Dr. Furuyama 3 months ago and have seen her 3 times since then for some needed fillings. She uses an instrument to help detect cavities not apparent on x-rays which found many cavities unknown to my previous dentist who I saw less than 6 months prior. She also offers laser treatment for fillings instead of those dreadful novacaine shots and the laser has been painless. She always checks to make sure I'm not feeling pain during the procedure and her staff makes every effort to keep me comfortable; their tempurpedic-type dentist chairs and neck pillow are a huge plus. The entire office is extremely pleasant and clean. The only downside is she does not take insurance.

Very good. Speaks Japanese. She has all the latest gadgets in her office and she is very time-conscious, meaning she usually does not keep you waiting past your appointment time. I highly recommend Dr. Jean Furuyama!

For a tooth-whitening procedure, Dr. Furuyama seems like not only a top-level expert but well-invested in new technology. The intra-oral camera was really interesting (though "fun" might be pushing them limit). It can be tough to get an appointment sometimes, though (but depends on the flexibility of your own schedule, I guess).
