Dr. Karsten was trained by the exemplary Dr. John Traugott. Who's dental work was acclaimed by Marietta tree, I.M. Pei, Mayor John Lindsay and many others. He has taken excellent care of myself and my family for more than 30 years. One example is that, 25 years ago, one front lower tooth was starting to fall sideways and might even fall out. (inherited from my mother). Dr. Karsten placed a simple metal brace, in the back of these lower teeth; which is in place today. His credo is never to allow pain during any procedure. His analysis of probelms and how to procede are excellent. His dental hygenist, Rosalie, has
me on a regimin of a home-made paste of peroxide & baking soda. My gums are perfect as a result. PS Dr. Karsten remarked to me that if oyu go into denistry you must like to engage with people. He is conversant on so many topics!

Excellent dentist with excellent "chairside manner". I live in CT and don't necessarily think all of the good doctors are in New York. However, when I commuted to the City for several years I started to go to Dr. Karsten. He was so far superior to any of the dentists that I had tried in CT that I continue to use him, although I am no longer a commuter.

My husband and I have been seeing "Dr. Bob" Karsten for several years. Thanks to him, I've kept teeth when other dentists I consulted with wanted to extract and replace them with implants.
Dr. Karsten assured me he could save my teeth and make them healthy again; and he was good on his word. It has taken me a full year of work with Dr. Bob, but he's put my mouth back together and I look beautiful again. And most importantly, my teeth are HEALTHY again (and they are MY teeth!)
I want to let folks know what fine dentist Dr. Karsten is. His bedside manner is amazing - he always has time to listen and explain the details of what's going on in a professional non-condescending way. He is an expert and perfectionist, and most importantly...so very kind and considerate. In fact, the entire staff is to be applauded for their courteous and kind service (I would get "how are you?" calls from them after a procedure without fail - even on major holidays!)
Folks, it doesn't get any better than that.
I highly recommend Dr. Karsten. You will be so pleased you did!!!!
About Hygienist: She is wonderful and has been with Dr. Bob for 20 years. Speaks volumes about this practice I think.

I got a filling done and it was very expensive and extremely sensitive for about two months afterwards. Overall not a pleasant experience.
