ZERO STARS. This man is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever been to. He wouldnt answer my questions when i saw him in the office and ended up throwing my chart at me. I left after that and tried to get my bill for two weeks over the phone. I called again today and again said my name and that iI needed my bill sent to me. The doctor then said he spoke with me yesterday and that he wasnt going to send me a bill and that had to come in and personally pick it up AND pay $5 for it? HORRIBLE PERSON. Doctors are supposed to make you feel better not like a piece of crap scum.

Dr. Katz x-rayed & cleaned my teeth & then told me I had at least $2,300 worth of work to be done. Certtainly did not believe that. THEN when I left the receptionist tried to get me to pay for the x-rays, which are covered by my insurance,. I told her to send me a bill- never did - smart on their part. Never went back & complained to insurance company.

unprofessional, talked about staff inapproriatey, bills, insurance, all done while drilling my teeth. Changed the prices after I told staff i was not coming back to him----would never recommend him
About Front Desk: very nice--totally afraid of dentist--he does his own billing because he doesn't trust his stafff OY OY OY

In all the years that I have been a patient of Dr Katz, he has always been professional, up on the latest treatments, gives options and expense, time, etc. involved. He has a minimal staff which keeps his costs down. The other responses seem to be looking for a luxury dental experience. This is not that.. This is great care for fair prices. Dr. Katz is aware that not all of his clientele have insurance and he is more than concerned when discussing options.
I have gone to other dentists because of location, and each dentist has said that Dr. Peter Katz has done great work.
I have had the following done: teeth cleaning, extractions, filllings, whitening, x=rays.

I chose Dr. Katz from a list of DMO providers because his office location was the most convenient. After my first visit (cleaning, exam, & x-rays) I have no reason to doubt his technical competence but his bedside manner leaves much to be desired. He seemed rushed and was fairly aggressive shoving instruments & x-ray films in my mouth without telling me what he was doing (he also basically threw the lead apron on me, and that thing is heavy!). I've never really minded going to the dentist & handle dental procedures pretty well, but the thought of going back to this guy for the 2 fillings he says I need is a little scary. I just didn't feel comfortable.

He did a very good job. His office was clean. I didnt have to wait long, and he was very patient and kind.

Dr. Katz was a pleasant dentist. I did not have to wait a long time. He took care of me very efficiently. He recommended good follow up. I will likely go back in 6 - 12 months to see him.

Dr. Katz seems to be a competent dentist and he is on my insurance plan so his procedures are less expensive than others in the area. He is affable and seems caring.
There are a couple of negative issues though. Firstly, the reception area is a mess. The rug is filthy and it needs a major renovation. The room where he works on you is small and old but seems clean. Secondly, the office staff barely speaks to you and are of no help when it comes to insurance issues etc.
Dr Katz takes care of all that by himself.
All in all it a bare bones operation with no frills. You get what you pay for.

I used Dr. Katz because he is close to where I live and participates in my dental insurance plan. I do not have serious dental problems, and I used him primarily for semi-annual cleanings.
I found him personally to be affable. There was no pain with his cleanings, as he uses a topical anesthetic.
Dr. Katz does the cleanings himself; on multiple occasions, he did not seem very detail-oriented. The equipment is old. The receptionists are not very competent.
I give him a leukwarm evaluation.
