Dr. Koretz has been my dentist for over 20 years.
I have what might charitably be termed a difficult mouth, and Dr. K has dealt with fillings, veneers, abscesses, root canals and many other issues that I probably can't name properly. Despite the challenges my mouth/teeth offer, I have no hesitations making appointments as soon as I need to, because of the quality of dental care I receive.
Beyond his expertise with a full range of dental issues, Dr. K is a kind, generous professional who tailors his work to each patient's specific situation. If he suggests a procedure, I know that he only does so because it's necessary. If I have an emergency, I'm always fit into the schedule somehow, despite how busy the week is. The entire office - hygienists, front desk staff, assistants - is patient-oriented, and there's a warmth and support there that I value greatly.
The bad news is, my mouth will always present me with problems; the good news is, I have a fantastic dentist whom I trust to take care of them, and me. I recommend him, and his office, wholeheartedly.

I've been going to Dr. J for years and now travel quite a distance to see him. Don't know what the criticism is based on, but in my experience and that of many people I've sent to him he is very good, accommodating, relaxed and professional. The critics can only be from his competitors. BTW, he doesn't clean teeth. He has a dental hygienist do that, so the person who said he did the cleaning was wrong.

He's a genius! I have the worst teeth imaginable and he's managed all of my issues painlessly, and conveniently.

I had seen this dentist once before and felt comfortable and had referred him to a friend who had a good experience. But today when I saw him he expressed discomfort at my having my teeth cleaned at a periodontist rather than in his office. When I let him know that I have reservations about having full x-rays he told me he felt uncomfortable working with me, saying that he coudln't have " a patient dictate treatment." As I got out of the chair he said, "Good luck with your philosophies." If you have a holistic bent and/or like to feel like a partner in your care I don't recommend this dentist. He seemed defensive and on edge.

Dr. Koretz is the only dentist I've seen where I came out looking worse than when I went into his office. Dr. Koretz tried to clean between my front teeth with a drill and chipped off a piece of my front tooth. Then he tried to repair the chipped place by bonding only the exposed area. It left a demarcation line which is very noticeable and embarrassing to me.
Years ago, he did a crown for me, which was adequate, but I left him because his office was a mess, with files on the floor. I went back years later because I moved into his neighborhood. However, his skills seem to have deteriorated.

Absolutely the best dentist I have ever been to. He totally changed my whole attitude and approach toward dentistry. Smart, compassionate, realistic, warm, thorough, patient, skillful....just THE best.

Dr. Koretz has been an excellent dentist since I've been going to see him for the past 6 years. His office does thorough cleanings and exams. The office environment is very relaxing and friendly. He and his staff are very concerned with the needs and well-being of their patients.
About Hygienist: The hygienists are exceptional. Very thorough. Calm manner.
