Definitely ask how much your procedures will be before hand. After insurance our bill (my wife and myself) was $1500. Would have been nice had we been told that before proceeding instead of just getting that large of bill in the mail. Seems like a competent dentist with nice facilities but business practices may lean towards the gray area of ethical.

I had to replace old crown and I came to M.Prater's office to get it done. the new crown came in short. It felt uncomfortable and I did not feel like there was a contact on the opposite tooth. I told him about it and instead of redoing the crown he started shaving my other teeth. He said that there was nothing wrong with the crown. After shaving 4 other teeth I lost my bite. Only my back molars could touch the rest of the teeth were not touching or had very poor contact. My very back molars became very sore and tired because of too much pressure . I developed pain in my face, neck and in my jaws. I called his office and he made me think that all this was my fault but he agreed re-do the crown. The new crown came in and because of other shaved teeth it was not fitting properly again. to make the story short I went to see another dentist. I had to spend over $4,000 to replace shaved teeth to build up my bite. Because of pain and anxiety I was suffering from I lost a lot of weight and quality of my life was ruined. I called his office to return me money for the crown that was never done properly . His assistant Amanda was rude and unprofessional. they never gave me my refund. I feel like this dentist MUTILATED me

Dr. Prater is an excellent dentist with high skill and profesional integrity. My whole family is his patients. The clinic is conveniently located off I-71 and very clean. The Dr. and the tech always use clean gloves every time they work on the patients.
Dr. Prater is expensive but he is worth it. He does most of the dental work on patients ( vs my previous dentist,Dr. Bosma, who used his dental assistants for a big chunk of the dental work while he works on another patient next room.)
The front desk ans biiling staff are very pleasant. The dental hygienists in the past were nice ( like Rene, but she is not working there anymore). The current hygienist, Amy, was kind of nasty, scolding me who come in for teeth cleaning at more than 6 month intervals.

I was referred to him from a co-worker and have been very pleased by the service and treatment I have received. I like the recent addition (last year or two) of the tvs, so you can now watch tv while having your teeth cleaned. The cost of services seem to been a little above the r&c costs, so we end up having to pay the difference since my insurance won't pay the entire amount.

Dr. Prather and his staff were great! Needed a wisdom tooth extracted. They 'knocked me out' and did the job. They did a great job of explaining post-op care and even offered meds at lower prices than the Pharmacy and saved a stop there too. Neat/Clean office - very basic. I'm out of wisdom teeth so I'm not sure I'd ever have to go back - but would without hesitation. They made me feel very comfortable - I'm not a fan of dentists.
