Dr. Kowalczyk has treated me and my family members since about 1985. We have found him to be competent, efficient and price competitive. I especially like the way he keeps up with current technology---he uses state of the art equipment and up to date techniques and materials.

My daughter was told by this office to wear an occlusal guard, because she was grinding her teeth during sleep. The guard was poorly made, and after many months, she began to experience pain. We took her to the orthodontist who had done her braces many years prior, and he did the best he could to first, assess, and then correct the damage done by the dentist. The result is that my daughter must wear braces again at a cost of over two thousand dollars, none of which is covered by our insurance, because of her age. Our orthodontist met with the dentist and the dentist's office manager to discuss the situation. The dentist denied any wrongdoing. When my wife called the dentist's office prior to the orthodontist's and dentist's meeting, the dentist used his office manager, who is not a dental professional, to discuss the dentist's culpability. The conversation did not go well. The dentist has chosen to avoid us and dismiss our concerns off the cuff, which is in keeping with his smart-aleck demeanor. To go around us and not look us in the eye in person exemplifies dishonesty and gross disrespect. The dentist was rude to our orthodontist when they met, which is odd, because they are professionals who are bound to a code of ethics.

He was decent at first but seemed to get worse over time. They bought some kind of new caviy machine that told me I had 8 cavities. I left and went to another dentist. Turns out I had only one cavity. I think he was losing patients and was trying to make some more cash.

Dr. Kowalczky is a overall decent dentist. I was satisfied up until I had a cavity filled there which turned into a root canal during the same visit. Dr. Kowalczyk had to locate a place open at 4pm on a Fri to finish the root canel b/c he did not offer it in his office. he did not warn of this prior to drilling out the cavity. My guess is that he screwed up but didn;t want to admit it.
The lady that cleans the teeth there is excellent and very thorough. I cannot remember her name. Dr. Kowalczyk recently added a 2nd dentist Dr. Amy Glascow. She was OK but seemed to be a rookie, and made a few mistakes during one visit. After Dr. Glascow came on board they started pushing this cavity locator machine. It beeped for every cavity it located. During my last visit it said I had 5 cavities and my girlfriend supposedly had 11! We left and went to another dentist. They said I had only 1 cavity and my GF had only 3. My guess is that they needed more $$ to payoff the new Doc and cavity machine. I wish the teeth cleaning lady would come to my new dentist.
