I adore Van as a person and I completely appreciate his meticulous dentistry and his willingness to explain my treatment options even beyond the point that I think I need to understand them. If you ever want a second opinion, go see Van. He might save you hundreds of dollars because he really is on the side of the patient and understands what it means to be on a budget. He's kind of a Sherlock Holmes of dental diagnostics as well as a prioritizer if you have money issues.
I switched dentists for awhile because he sometimes is really hard to get an appointment with and he takes longer than most dentists, but I recently went back to him and I don't think I would go back to anyone else. And he has a huge CD collection in his office and relaxing pictures pinned to the ceiling to look at while you're being worked on.
About Hygienist: If I'm not mistaken, he does all the work himself which I think is even better!

I have been a patient of Dr. Van Nguyen for over 15 years and would highly recommend him. He is a good listener, has a wonderful chair-side manner and goes out of his way to make sure that you have the best possible expereince while your dental work is done. I recently moved out of San Francisco, but gladly make the one hour journey to continue receiving his excellent care.

Dr. Nguyen has been my dentist for about 20 years. I have found him to be very thorough. He has made many good suggestions as to how I can take better care of my teeth. Very friendly and personable. Very little pain!

Dr Van is sweet, attentive and comforting. The staff is super helpful with insurance questions and appointments. The office is easy to get to by bus. I would and have reccomended him to to friends.

Dr. Van has a very gentle touch. He takes careful notes and really listens. If you are looking for someone who has a confident touch and experience look no further! Another plus is that he is an avid music fan and does his best to provide a music atmosphere that can match your mood.

Dr. Van is the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. In his office you are a person, not just a patient. He talks everything over with you, asks you how you feel, what you're interested in, listens carefully and lays out all your options. His manner is very relaxing and he's very concerned about your comfort. I can't say enough good stuff about him - he's the best!
