Read Reviews for Dr. Paul Baumgartner
I used Doctor Baumgartner for approx 30 years.
I had him take out my metal fillings
because of concerns I had over health risk and
mercury poisoning. A lot of them he had put in
over the years.
I recently went to see him for a filling and he
started to put in a metal filling despite notes
in my chart to use composite white fillings. I
reminded him that I need composite fillings.
The next time I went to see him I didn't remind
him and he put 2 metal feelings in my teeth, he
told me that he was in his element that day and
those fillings were some of the best work he has
ever done. When I realized he had put amalgam
fillings in my mouth I was upset and contacted his
office. After he read my file I was told
he would be willing to do a replacement with
composite white non metal fillings for an addtional
cost of $25 because composite fillings take longer
to set.
No appology, woops I screwed up, no nothing. His
response is metal is better and your teeth are
living organisms so removing metal and replacing
the metal with white composite is tramatic to
your teeth, you want to keep that in mind. He
said nothing about all the amalgam fillings he
removed.
I didn't know what to do, I know his
proceedures for removing metal are not the same
as dentist who regularly remove metal fillings with
a rubber dam. Dentist who remove malgam filling
have been acutely aware of the excess exposure problem,
and have devised a number of strategies for reducing the amount of
mercury exposure to both patients and dental staff during amalgam
removal. They put a rubber dam in the mouth to stop
the mercury from entering you body. They cut the
filling in pieces to remove a big of pieces as possible.
They rinse thoroughly after removing the dam and
the use a special rinse of charcoal to nuterilize
the mercury in your mouth.
Doctor Baumgardner uses a high speed drill, probably
the worst method for removing malgam fillings. I haven't
paid him for the malgam fillings and I'm not going to.
He has turned me over to collections for not paying for
the malgam fillings If he had read my charts, he wouldn't
have a problem and I wouldn't have mercury problems.
I think he needs to read his charts before doing dental
work on his patients.

Dr. Baumgartner is the best! He makes you feel very comfortable, explains everything to you so you don't get any surprises. I have been going to this dental office since 1996 and I would highly recommend Dr B to anyone! Also...he has an AWESOME dental assistant (Jody) and if you need a laugh...she can definatley make that happen! Her and Dr B work great together, they do fabulous work. He recently fixed gaps in my teeth and they look absolutely wonderful! Can't even tell I had work done, they look amazing! Thank you Dr B!!!! A+++++++++

The Doc is great, knows EXACTLY what he doing, is patient and very skilled. NO PAIN!!! He is not afraid to use the pain killers so you don't have any when he is working. He has done a ton of work for me and my wife and we both think he is the best. Nurse's are really nice, can't find anything to complain about at all. If you're not going to Doc B. then you may be going to the wrong dentist.
