I typically do not write reviews but I feel very strongly that my experience with Dr. Jenista is one that all perspective patients should be aware of.
A few years back when I came in for tooth pain he sent me home and told me it was temporary and would get better. When the pain continued, I saw him again. He told me my tooth was bruised and that I should get some over the counter pain relief. I was a bit upset with this diagnosis as this was the second time I had visited his office, but took his advise none the less.
Two days later I found myself in a great deal of pain. I was not able to sleep and could hardly get out of bed. On the advise of my mother, I went to her dentist for a second opinion. Within five minutes of visiting her dentist I was told that I had an untreated root canal. The dentist explained that because it had been untreated for so long, the infection had spread into my jaw and blood stream causing the the fatigue and pain. He immediately sent me to the ER where I was given penicillin and narcotics for the pain. The infection was so bad at this point that I was put on bed rest for two days.
I had to have oral surgery and three more dentist visits to correct what Dr. Jenista missed. Overall bad experience.

I moved to AZ 11 yrs ago, the first 6 years I was a "dentist hopper". I am very particular about who my dentist is and I was not able to find one that I could trust. My girlfriend recommended Dr. Jenista....I thank her to this day--even though she moved out of Phx.
Dr. Jenista is a wonderful Dr. !!!! He is the most honest Dr. I ever met. The most gentle Dentist Office I've ever been to. I recommend him to all my friends and family members and they are all very happy with his services.
I have to admit that I have few crowns done out of state and couple of them done by Dr. Jenista. What a difference!!! Beautiful work !!! Dr. Jenista is not only gentle and takes very good care of his patients, he is an ARTIST in DENTISTRY!!! If anyone is looking for the BEST Dr. in town,....look no more !!! Call Dr. Jenista and you will not be sorry you did.
Everyone is very pleasant and carring in this office.

About Hygienist: Susan is gentle and knows what she is doing. Again I am very particular about a dentist office, but this one is very clean and everyone is friendly and professional. Will not change this team with anyone in the valley.

Ok so i found this guy while working at safeway and heard some other employee's talking about how great he is, and ive never looked back. Ive gotten fillings , crowns and even wisdom teeth removed with zero pain and in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. His secratary has been there since ive been going in about 6 years now and makes it that much better. If your shopping for a dentist you couldnt do any better than this one, honest.
ps. he is not my friend or family or anything. just an honestly great dentist.

I found this dentist because he was close to my job at the time and I got lucky. He was able to handle one tough filling which had been botched by my previous dentist; the cavity was very close to the nerve, so he had to do some high-precision drilling without hitting the nerve, and then put a temporary filling with clove oil to cause the nerve to recede a bit, then a few months later drilled again did the permanent filling. Others might have given up and done a root canal. I've had a few other fillings too. The equipment is fairly high-tech compared to other places I've been. The hygienist will use the ultrasonic instrument at every cleaning if it's necessary or helpful, which I think is very effective. The previous hygienist was very perky and liked to make you feel guilty (you don't floss 3 times a day, shame on you!) but the current one is more laid back, and easy to get along with. I recommended this dentist to a couple coworkers and they were also very satisfied. The less than stellar ratings are because of my wife; she had a crown done and was not satisfied with how it fits (it doesn't make tight enough contact with the gumline). Also had some billing problems once but the front-office lady who did that got fired.

I have worked in the dental field for over 16 years. I know dentistry. Dr. Jenista is an excellent dentist. I visited several offices in the valley in order to find a dentist I could trust as much as the one I had worked for back East. Dr. Jenista is that dentist! He's the best I found here in Arizona!! Call him. You won't regret it.
