I recently moved to Frisco and needed a new dentist. I blindly chose Dr. Sohn because she was within my insurance network, and close to where I live. My x-rays and cleaning went well. Dr. Sohn introduced herself to me and then checked each tooth, spouting off numbers/letters that only made sense to the hygienist. After less than 5 minutes, she was finished and let me know that I had a crack in my tooth, and that I was going to need a lot (about 10) fillings and a crown. I was very shaken up and noticeably upset, as I try to take good care of myself, and haven't had much dental work done. She didn't seem to care that this news upset me. Instead, she left and had the hygienist talk to me about what needed to be done. Before I left, I shelled out $18 for fluoride treatment (which I've never paid that much money for), and made 2 appointments for the $2000 of work that needed to be done.
My nervousness about having work done (and the $2000 it would cost) led me to see another dentist for a 2nd opinion. He took a lot of time to closely examine my teeth, and talked me through every move he made. After a careful exam, he did not recommend any work be done.
Dr. Sohn took advantage of me. Don't let it happen to you.
