The Doctor is very careless, he mistakenly filled my tooth whereas there was a need for root canal!
The pain started right after filling and the Dr claim he did his job correctly!!
The admin is also very rude.

He is the best! Been going to him for over 30 years. He is very good at keeping the pain low.

I've known Dr. Henckel for years because everyone in my family has been going to him since my mom and her sister and brothers were little. I had very crooked teeth and an-overbite so I needed a few years of retainers before I even could wear braces but he made everything go by swiftly and smoothly. He is very nice and sweet and does a good job, I have never been scared of going to the dentist/orthodontist because of him, I actually look forward to it. I have been going to him since my first retainer to getting my wisdom teeth out just yesterday and he is always wonderful. He also wears a little giraffe tie along with other silly ties sometimes, which I think is very funny. I hope I never have to go to another orthodontist as he or she would just not be the same!
About Hygienist: They are all very nice, sweet, and get the job done. Some of them have been there for the entire time that I've been going. I've been going there for so long that they've seen me go from my pre-teen years to young adult and treat me like family, but from what I see they are that nice and welcoming to everyone. They do my cleanings and x-rays and what have you most of the time and do a great job.

I am a wuss when it comes going to the dentist which is why it has been over 3 years since I went but his hygienist was sweet and gentle with my cleaning and Dr Henckel told me that what I needed would be less than the other dentist I saw. Actually $1000 dollars less. Its hard to trust people when they only want to get more money from you and to me, he was completely trustworthy. I have recommended him to my family members.

Dr. Henckel has been a pro-active dentist, is kindly, and works with you on what is optimal. His business partners have left, and the hygienists have gone from 2 positions to 1 position. His manners are professional and he won't have you incur pain with any procedure. Whitening is an option, but isn't pushed. The office staff is competent and insurance is handled seamlessly. There has been more turn over than desired for staff and hygienist positions though (disappointing). He was a past dentist for the Houston Aeros, goes on photo safaris, and put a number of pictures along the walls. The hygienists' work will be good, and the time spent is pretty business-like. She'll spend around 50 minutes with you, including giving a fluoride rinse at the end as an option. I would say a good deal of dental and gum related questions can be answered by a number of personnel, but you'll probably have to take the initiative to do some research first plus start the dialogue. Would I recommend a new patient go there? Well, I would say if you are in the +50 category in the west side of town, it will be a good fit until he decides to quit/retire.

I have been going to Dr. Henckel since I moved to Texas in 1980 and I would highly recommend he and his staff. He is very focused on hiring and training his staff and quickly gets rid of people that don't make the grade. Top quality service from booking appointments to walking out the door with my goodie bag. Highly recommended!
About Hygienist: Gayla was the gold standard in dental hygienists but had to leave. Although no one will ever meet her high standard they are all top notch.

Dr. Henckle was referred to me by a co-worker and I have been pleased. His staff is excellent and hygienists are among the most knowledgeable that I have ever met. The high standards held within the office are evident.

Wonderful dentist!!!!!! I'm in the process of having an implant so I can't answer completely about it being successful - but I know it will be! Dr. Henckel has been my doctor for years when I lived in Houston. This year (2008) I have returned to Houston after 11 years of being away - for my husband's treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and when I had a problem with my tooth, I knew who I would try to get an appointment with. The doctor is a true professional - as are his staff members. I wouldn't go to anyone but Dr. Henckel. He knows what he's doing, prices are reasonable, and his staff takes care of my insurance paperwork. I couldn't ask for better service.

I am a new patient referred by a friend. I love Dr. H, his staff and most importantly, his expertise. I had an old crown that was never correct, and finally after making the decision to do something about it, I am confident that this time it is a good one. In addition, Dr. H is very intuitive, and uses his special skills to diagnose what is the "right" thing to do. Dr. H has sets an example for us all with his display of moral fiber and leadership. I am grateful to have found him.
