MY EXPERIENCE AS A PATIENT IN DR. THOMPSON'S OFFICE WAS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FROM HELL! THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY RUDE TO ME FROM POINT BLANK. THEY MADE ME FEEL VERY UNWELCOMED AND PRACTICALLY A BURDEN. I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE RETURN TO THEIR OFFICE AND HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM GOING THEIR AS WELL. WHEN SOMEONE IS PRACTICALLY EMPTYING OUT THEIR WALLETS TO A DENTIST, THE VERY LEAST THEY CAN DO IS MAKE THAT PERSON FEEL IS WARMTH AND COMPASSION.. AND NOT HUMILIATED!!

I had a horrible experience with the office of Dr. Karen Thompson and Thompson Family Dentistry. I was overcharged (exactly double the correct amount) because they did not understand the dental discount plan they said (and verified) that they accepted. When I pointed out that I was overcharged, they became very arrogant and rude and would not correct their error. They were unreasonable and the whole experience was very frustrating. I finally had to report this incident to the Better Business Bureau to get it resolved. Faced with the possibility of a negative complaint on their record, Dr. Thompson's office FINALLY decided to do the right thing and correct my bill to the amount they agreed was fair. I find it unfortunate that a dentist would have to have their feet held to the fire by the BBB before they would do the right thing. In addition, Dr. Thompson recommended that I needed several thousand dollars of dental work, much of which another dentist found unnecessary. I require my dentist to be honest, reasonable, and fair, so clearly Dr. Karen Thompson and Thompson Family Dentistry was not a fit for me. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a dentist in Plano to avoid the aggravation and keep looking.
