Read Reviews for Dr. John Marino
John Marion is arrogant and greedy for money. He will try to talk you in to spending unnecessary money and will do everything he can to prolong your time in braces while he lines his pockets with your money.
Now, years after my time as his patient, I have permanent damage and scars throughout my mouth. I have spoken with other people I've known to have braces and all of them are appalled to hear of the damage to the tissue in my mouth.
I couldn't get Marino to complete my process of having braces because he kept prolonging the process and charging more as he went. After years and years of him scamming me and my family, we had to leave as we had seen no progress and the damage to my mouth was so profound I could no longer bear it.
Luckily I found another orthodontist who took care of me and had me out of braces after a year, causing me no pain and charging me way less, while also leaving me with a perfect smile.
I wish if only I could get back the immense amount of time and money lost to Marino, but he is too arrogant to ever admit his faults and is too greedy to ever give back after taking so much.

As a kid I was taken to Marino's office for braces. He popped braces on my teeth at the young age of 10 while I still had my baby teeth. He had the braces so I only had brackets on my 4 front teeth and a wire bent up with a sharp edge that pushed against my gums until the wire bent down to connect to my back molars. It's hard to explain but where the wire bent up with the sharp edge constantly dug into my inner lip leaving massive holes that got bloody and infected. To this day I still have flabs of skin on my inner lip that hang (and this was almost 10 years ago). Marino showed no concern about this though and continued with me having braces only on my top 4 teeth for a long while. During that time he decided he wanted to take out my baby teeth without any warning or notification to me or my mother so he just came in and got his nurses to hold me down and stuck a device in my mouth that would tear my teeth from my gums. I cried but he didn't care that these teeth weren't ready to come out, he yanked out at least 4 of them that day and I'll never forget what it was like to literally have a mouthful of blood. Suffice to say after a few years of his treachery we left with no results and had to see another orthodontist.

Dr. Marino is an excellent dentist. He has been my dentist for more than 20 years. I have had crowns, braces and fillings done by him. He is a little expensive, but so are most good dentist. He has all the current equipment in his office and a wonderful staff. I would, and I have recommend him.

I had braces and did have luck however when he worked on my children, he did a terrible job. He actually yanked 4 of my child's baby teeth out with NO preparation for her or me and with out telling me what he was doing. She was bleeding profusely and crying frantically. I should have left at that time.
I trusted him completely and spent over 20,000.00 with him during a 7 year period. He does have talent but no humility. When I finally had had enough and decided to take my daughter out of his care, the whole attitude toward me changed. I finally took my son out and then the final straw was when I needed to be paid back for services he either did not complete or needed to do properly.
My daughters work was completed for HALF of what he wanted to complete it. He also had a staff member there that was not capable to doing things well and with the price he charges one should get ONLY the BEST of courtesy, treatment and kindness toward children especially.

Dr. Marino has been a part of my family since I was 15 years old. I'm now 50 and he has treated my siblings, wife, children, parents and myself over the years. In all that time I have never had reason to complain about the treatment or question his dedication and professionalism.
My wife was experiencing severe discomfort due to TMJ when we met. Dr. Marino was able to diagnose the problems, address the root causes of her pain and today she is pain free and able to eat without discomfort. What is especially notable about his treatment of her problems is that he did it without surgery, which was the recommended therapy from every other dentist we consulted.
He has always been available when we had dental emergencies, even once coming into the office at 3:00 in the morning when my wife was experiencing an extremely painful flare-up of her TMJ. While this is probably the most extreme example, he has also been called upon numerous times late a night and on weekends if we had questions about a procedure he had performed on one of us or when my son would manage to pull off part of his braces. Never once, has he declined to help or been less than gracious about the imposition on his personal time.
I recommend him highly.

If the quality of the dental services were not above average, I would not recommend this dentist. He does not accept insurance and front office staff are not very helpful with filing. I always do it myself. They do not respond to inquiries from the insurance company either. if you can live with poor customer service, this is a great dentist. The prices are not exhorbitant, but he's not the cheapest guy in town either.

I'm 48 and I've been seeing John Marino since I got out of college... quick with a joke, great at what he does... I'm at ease when I'm in his chairs. (his wife's a hoot too...)
