We sent our children to Dr. Herbst. On one visit, he administered nitrous oxide to our son without telling my wife or myself. Later that day at school, my son tripped on the steps and fell down. Of course, we no longer use Dr. Herbst and would not recommend him.

I had a range of procedures from cavities to caps. The procedures were painful. And some of the work is now being redone (less than 2 years later).

VERY EXPENSIVE...But so far very good. Wish it was a bit less expensive.

Drill happy doctor! Staff is scared to death of the man. Cockyness attitude made me leave.

Dr. Herbst does indeed have the awful bedside manner that the prior reviewer wrote of. He seems to almost be taunting patients about any cavities, etc., as well as being brash and agressive. He attempts to intimidate patients into getting work done. In discussing your teeth he is vague and patronizing.
Most aggregiously though, he is fraudulent. He told me I had nine cavities and needed 1200 dollars worth of work. I went to another dentist and found out I actually had two cavities - 200 dollars. This man would have drilled on perfectly healthy teeth.
He also tried to compel my mother into getting all of her silver fillings replaced with composite fillings, saying that it was absolutely necessary for her health, when actually this is an entirely cosmetic procedure. I also do not recommend this dishonest dentist to anyone.

Dr. Herbst did a fair job on my dental work, but he has a very abrasive bedside manner. His prices are high and he continually tries to push for more crowns and cosmetic work. You can sense the stress and anxiety amongst his staff as he is very intimidating to them (and the patients). The turnover in his staff is tremendous...a telling sign. I would never recommend him to anyone!
