Read Reviews for Dr. Richard Whittington
Dr. Whittington thinks his job is to refer his patients to other doctors/dentists rather than caring for them himself. He is an interventionist that recommends work that doesn't need to be done. We went to him after we moved to the area and suddenly the whole family had 'issues' we had not had before. He recommends the removal of wisdom teeth that are not impacted because they might cause a problem 20 years down the line. When you don't follow his advice he describes his 'care' as 'supervised neglect'. A terrible dentist, we will be finding another.

Dr. Whitington is pleasant, efficient and highly skilled. His demeanor provides the patient with a level of comfort and confidence. He has always provided the best cleaning (no need for white strips with Dr. W) and preventive care. He also gave me a crown that was painless and has performed perfectly for the past ten years. Highly Recomended.

When I started here, I was trying to get pregnant and did get pregnant so I of course didn't want x-rays (per the advice of every OB out there). Two days before my next appt. (for which I waited 6 mos), they called and said if I continued to "refuse" xrays, I should "find myself another dentist." I explained I had been pregnant and they said I needed a note from my OB to "plead my case" for the dentist to continue seeing me. Here's my case -- it's my body and I'll do what I want with it. Their actions were highly unprofessional and, frankly, insulting (and, I'm sure, motivated by easy insurance money). I dropped THEM.

Dr. Whittington is a skilled, personable, hard-working, and accommodating denstist. I have been seeing him for nearly twenty years now and have always been not just satisfied with him as my dentist, but impressed by the quality of his dental work and the level of service that he gives.
