Read Reviews for Dr. Heath Allen
My 2 year-old daughter needed a new molar to be filled. Dr. H. Allen does not offer amalgam fillings, only the expensive composite (white) fillings. Most insurance companies will not cover the extra cost (4x's) of these fillings over the traditional silver amalgam type. Also, Dr. H. Allen doesn't perform sedations. A two year old without sedation during a procedure didn't seem right. He said they would restrain her in a papoose. This wasn't okay by me. Also, he didn't seem to have the patience to acclimate my child to the idea of him looking in her mouth. He used a tool to pry her mouth open; she was petrified and crying. I left his office crying. So, between the high cost of unecessary composite fillings, the impatience, and the restraint without sedation-I found a dentist more to my liking right down the street from Dr. H. Allen.

While Dr. Allen's patients pay quite a bit without insurance, they get a very comfortable way to go. Children love his office, and they are made comfortable. Like a barbershop, there are plenty of chairs. Unfortunately, you can see your neighbor very easily, as there are no walls between those chairs. You are usually seen close to on-time. However, making an appointment can be difficult. Dr. Allen is very popular, and you'll usually have to wait several months unless there is a dental emergency. One thing you don't have to worry about. Dr. Allen will not recommend something that does not need to be done. He doesn't have to do that, because his patients come back again and again.
