Dr. Sherman is friendly and knowledgeable. While his office might not be the most glamorous, it is spacious, clean, and professional. Dr. Sherman's staff of dental hygienists are just as nice and skilled as he is, which is to say very. I would highly recommend Dr. Sherman!

I absolutely and positively recommend Dr. Sherman! I have been with him for over 20 years and even have my daughters going to him. My youngest had a very stressful appointment with a pediadontist at age 4 and was terrified of going to a dentist. I finally got her to see Dr. Sherman at age 5 1/2 and he was so gentle and patient with her! She's been going to him ever since (she's 18 now) and doesn't have any anxiety. Dr. Sherman's staff is wonderful and I highly recommend anyone who is looking for an honest, sincere and great dentist, go to Dr. Sherman! HE IS THE BEST!!! You won't regret it. Debbie R.

Seems like a professional and knowledgable dentist with pleasant and helpful staff. He was highly recommended to me so I think alot of people are happy with his work. However I I had a bad experience. He convinced me to replace all of my old silver fillings with the new white composite ones and it was a huge mistake. I never had any pain or problems with these teeth until he refilled them and since then they have all been sensitive and one of them is quite painful - it has been that way for the six months since the work was done. When I complained to him about the problem all he did was say I might need a root canal and didn't seem very concerned. I'm really upset about this since I can't eat without pain and I'm kicking myself for every having had the work done. He convinced me it was a good idea but in my opinion he created a big problem where there wasn't one in the first place. Now I have to go find another dentist to fix the tooth he broke (that's why I'm on this site!) and pay more money on top of what I paid him. In all fairness it's possible it was just bad luck, but if you see him and he wants to replace all your old fillings I'd get a second opinion first.

I find that Dr. Sherman is always very rushed when doing his appointments. I have had bonding done to my front teeth that was done very sloppy and required me to see another dentist to fix his mess.

Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly, conversational front desk staff, looking forward to future visits!

My porcelain veneers look great and have held up well. Dr. Sherman is a caring, affable professional, and his staff of assistants, hygienists and administrative personnel are lovely. It's a small, family-like office. Not cheap.

Don't go to Jack Sherman! He was a bad experience. Here's why:
I asked him 2 questions about my gums and he charged me over 40 dollars saying it was a periodontic consultation.
Secondly, his student assistant didnt know how to clean teeth. She splattered water everywhere, made me bleed and was snobby.
His nurse/office refused to give me copies of my xray even if dentists are supposed to do that. They knew they were going to loose a patient and responded that way.
DONT SUPPORT THIS ARROGANT BS AND HIS RUDE STAFF!

I have been seeing Dr. Sherman for thirty years and he has always been there for me especially in emergencies when it counts. He actually listens, is gentle, thorough, proactive and will work with you to find the best solution to your problems. I have turned on at least ten people to him and they all swear by him. He's worth switching to! He was very good with pain management and I give him my unqualified redcommendation.

Dr. Sherman is the best dentist in San Francisco especially if you have dental phobias as I do. He has practiced many years and investigates new procedures thoroughly before implementing. He is a a mensch and excellent dental practitioner !
