Though I had been with Dr. Hess for a very long time. He, or more appropriately his receptionist made me pretty mad. After a cleaning I was asked if I wanted to schedule again for my next cleaning. I said no because I was going to be switching insurance, moving, and getting married. Well they did anyways and when I got the auto-call reminding me of my appointment. I called and left two messages saying I could not go. Well the date came and I received an angry call for not having canceled ahead of time. I was later billed $75 for the fact. Rather than fight it I decided to pay the money and be done with it. I don't appreciate be called a liar at several stages, hung up on by the receptionist, and being billed for services neither rendered nor requested. Dr. Hess is a fine man and a good dentist, but his office is run in a ho-hum manner.

Dr. Hess is by far the best dentist I have ever had in my life, and I am a person that is generally uneasy about going to the dentist. His skills and competency in general dentistry are unquestioned, but I was more impressed with his professionalism, courtesy, and the relaxing climate of his office. Since I have moved away from the Seattle area, I have struggled to find a dentist even half as good.
