I've been going to this office since i was two years old. The do a great job cleaning my teeth and preventing cavities with sealants. Love the hygienist. My teeth always feel extremely clean afterwards and never painful.

Dr. York is interested in maintaining and saving your teeth. She does not recommend replacement of fillings to get you into the office for procedures that will benefit the dentist's office as some dentist do. She has installed several crowns now 10 years old and I have no complaints.
About Hygienist: This office hires competent thorough hygienists. I have encountered two of them and they do a great job.

Dr. York is very competent, clearly stays current with the best practices, and takes pride in her work. She is very thoughtful and careful. She takes care to explain the procedures she uses, and the reason for selecting one procedure over another.
Her practice is for both adults and children. Her office is inviting and makes children comfortable.
Appointments are pretty hard to get unless she already is taking care of another member of your family. Sort of like getting on a wait list at a winery for limited release wines. Even appointments for simple cleaning/exams must be scheduled long in advance. But emergency things are handled promptly.

Dr York is a great dentist, however, since she divides her time between dentistry and the UW, appointments are very difficult to get, the cost is very high, and the front of the office staff doesn't do the things I think they should do (like find out what your insurance covers and what it doesn't).
