When I visited Dr Kern, I hadn't been to a dentist in years after being traumatized by my last experience. He put me at ease by explaining everything before doing it. I had to visit twice to get several fillings done. The first time, he used a bit too much anesthetic so I was numb for twice the period he said I would be after the fillings. I had him correct it the next time. It's good to have a doctor who responds to you instead of being offended by receiving feedback.
Dr Kern is on the expensive side of the spectrum. I hit my insurance limit about 2/3 of the way, and he charged me full price for the rest. Fortunately, I was able to convince the office to charge me the lower rate they charge my company.

The worst dentist I've ever been to. He is always on vacation and unavailable for exams. He has a high turnover of employees. The new hygienist provided the worst cleaning ever, she hurt my gums so bad that it hurt for the rest of the day. I'm transferring my family to a better highly rated dentist.

Dr. Kern and his caring staff took great care of me at my recent cleaning and examination. Dr. Kern is current, thorough, detailed and has a great chairside manner. He has taken the time to train his staff and they too desire to provide the same great service. My cleaning also went really well. Again the hygienist was very conscientious and took the time to make sure that my teeth were really clean. And it didn't hurt!
I would highly recommend Dr. Kern to my friends and family.

I've been seeing Dr. Kern for quite a while. I've been to plenty of other dentists over the years and Dr. Kern stands out in several important ways. He takes the time to listen and really understand what's going on. He explains what I need and what he's going to do in terms that I can easily understand. He does excellent work and stands behind it. If you need some adjustments, he doesn't charge for that. He is always staying on top of the latest advancements and over the time that I've been seeing him he has added lots of new equipment and techniques that have made the experience better, easier and more effective.
About Hygienist: The hygiensts are great. They make me feel comfortable and let me know what I need to be doing without making it sound like a lecture. I'm always amazed at the personal details that they remember when I come in for a cleaning.

I have not been satisfied with dr. kern... he has put in some fillings of mine that have fallen out, and then I have been recharged to get them replaced. They suggested we wait for our new dental insurance to come in (as my husband was laid off) before they even look at it. Then we went to another dentist to get a second opinion and that dentist had a completely different recommendation. Dr. Kern works four days a week and makes money hand over fist and yet isn't willing to ensure his patients successful treatment or be flexible with his time. However, his partner Dr. Frost is excellent.

I see Dr. Kern for my regular exams. His office did sealants on my molars and did a great job.
About Hygienist: I love the hygienist Stacia here! She is completely friendly and my teeth always feel squeaky clean when I leave her chair. She always checks to see if I have any tooth sensitivity before she starts and takes extra special care in those areas.

I had issues for years from another dental group who did bridgework.... Dr. Kern was the first to identify the problem with my bite and fixed it. He is more concerned about the quality and thoroughness of care than what fits into an insurance cost code which oftentimes leads to sacrificing what's best for the patient. Very good chair-side manners. Fabulous office environment. Easy to work with all levels of experience with staff.

I have been seeing Dr. Kern for 6 years. He repaired some fillings that weren't done well by another dentist and has done my semi-annual dental exams. He referred me to a periodontist when my gums needed a skin graft. He is very thorough, listens to me, and offers suggestions/remedies to help with my concern. He is very polite, soft spoken, and respectful. He is also gentle when working in your mouth and always explains what he's doing.
The clinic is wonderful...neat and clean, with courteous staff, state of the art equipment including computerized x-ray machines and records, cable TV and satellite radio with headphones for each patient. I have had no problem with insurance and billing.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Kern to anyone shopping for a new dentist.

I've been going to Dr Kern's office for 7 years now and have only nice things to say about the experience. I must say this is the best dentist I've ever used. Makes you feel at home and relaxed, careful and friendly. The treatment has been painless and I am very disappointed finding myself looking for another doctor because my insurance company has changed.
