Read Reviews for Dr. Stephen Ong
Dr. Ong is good but his receptionist can be a bit abrasive and gives dental advice that I don't think is appropriate from someone who is not a dentist. I also overheard a discussion about staff issues that I, as a customer, should not have overheard. The dental hygienist kept digging the dental floss into the corner of my lips- oww!

I am SO lucky I found these reviews. Last year I needed to find a dentist ASAP. I hastily made an appointment at this delapitated "house" turned into an dentist's office for a GENERAL CLEANING and came out with 8 CAVITIES/FILLINGS never having had a cavity before in my LIFE. A week later, one of the fillings fell out. Since then, I've moved back to Seattle--I had considered going back but now will be changing dentist's promptly. No novacaine was used in my treatment, I had no pain prior so I was shocked to have heard about having cavities, and my molar is very sore from the technique he used to grind my tooth down instead of drilling the cavity out. I will be doing research on this dentist, who is in severe danger of malpractice.

I just went back to Dr. Ong to have the same cavity filled for the *fourth* time in less than a year. He had no explanation for why the filling keeps falling out, even after the third try when he did additional drilling to rough up the surface. The third filling lasted about four months. He always seems pretty rushed, and after my first cleaning after not going to the dentist for a couple of years I couldn't even tell that my teeth had been cleaned. State employees with Delta Dental insurance beware: if you sign up with Dr. Carpenter at 414 3rd Ave W you are actually getting Dr. Ong.

My daughter went to "Dr" Ong for a cleaning. He supposedly found several caries that desparately needed filling and he just happened to have the time right then. My wife is a dental hygientist so my daughter has had the best of care all her life. A review of xrays taken before the procedures by two other dentists didn't support "Dr" Ong's work. Xrays don't always show a cavity, but one that was as extreme as he said it was, most likey would show up on the film. He removed almost all of the tooth and now she has a lot of problems with it. She has suffered for quite some time with pain and discomfort. Flying has even been a problem. In the end the tooth will in all likelihood require a root canal and crown. So think twice about going to this guy. I would certainly question his ethics.

Don't see this man!!! His office gave me a bad feeling when I saw him for my one and only visit 3 years ago, but I decided I was just being overly anxious. I only came in for a cleaning, but he said I had 4 cavities and he could fill 2 right away. He completely stripped the insides of two of my teeth down to the "pulp chamber." I can no longer chew on that side of my mouth and have extreme sensitivity to hot and cold. Later, my normal dentist back home said there's no way I could have had cavities that deep since my last visit with him and that I did NOT have the 2 other cavities Dr Ong had diagnosed.
