I truly wouldn't recommend, I gave them a shot after reading wonderful reviews but soon came to find out that the rating they have is too high and some reviews maybe misleading. What really caught my attention at first was the aggression used to get the job done especially when the dentals assistant would put on the rubber dam (a very uncomfortable thing put on the tooth). The tools being used also seem to be VERY OLD possibly from the 80s. After getting some work done I also noticed a edge on the corner of one of my back tooth's which I presume was a error by the dentist or when the rubber dam was placed, even though a small chip I still feel it till this day. I needed a dentist close by but if I did I would have avoided this place.

I have been seeing Dr. Swanson for many years (7+) and it's been a consistently good experience.

great service and results. I've been going to this clinic for years and now my kids are going there too. Dr Swanson is a highly-skilled dentist, very careful and thorough in his examination and treatment approaches. The clinic is comfortable and immaculately clean. The stuff is friendly. The appointment system is easy and convenient.

Very friendly and considerate. A preferred provider on my insurance. Put in a crown that is working fine. Regular check-ups. Convenient location to UW.

A good dentist. Office is friendly and relaxing. He is gentle and thorough. A great place to take children to learn about dental hygiene, as well as feel safe and comfortable at a dentist's office.

I did deep cleaning over there. The treatment was quite successful. It was a little painful, but endurable. But the cost is quite expensive. I don't like about this dentist is that the doctor pushes you to do all the treatments, although it may not be necessary.

not recommended. First of all, I am really not a picky patient-- i had good relationships with all my past dentists in MA, CT and FL. However, i have to say Dr. James Swanson is the worst one among all the dentists i have been known of.
His injection skill is awful and made me suffer days after the anaesthesia ---My right side face got purple and swelling for a week b/c of his heavy-handed anaesthesia. I have to say even his hygienist has much better anaesthesia skill than him.
He tries to squeeze the last penny out of your insurance.
and WATCH OUT for the BILL. My insurance has price deduction contract with him (meaning, he agreed with the insurance to give a price write off , this amount should not be paid by either the insurance or the patient, but is a write-off for the in-network dentist). However, he charged me this contracted deductions, telling me they were the "remaining balance" from my insurance which i need to pay for. It took me a very long time to finally realize i have been over-charged, as i really trusted the clinic in the past and never bothered to examine bills carefully.
I have shifted to another dentist in the U-district. and I like my new dentist a lot as he has much better skills.
About Hygienist: the hygienist is much better than Dr. Swanson. i chose Dr. Swanson primarily b/c i first had good experience with the hygienist. Unfortunately, Dr. Swanson is really disappointing.

nice, no pain, OK cost, takes care of the billing and insurance, front desk VERY nice !
About Hygienist: ask for jane she is great, does a very good job, explain everything, very gentle

I had avoided the dentist for years, but now I go regularly thanks to Dr. Swanson and his great staff. He was very gentle and put some great numbing stuff on my gums to ease discomfort.
