I was referred to Dr. Smith through co-workers. New to the area and dentist-phobic, I was nervous to see a not just a new dentist but the first dentist I'd seen in over 2 years. My initial visit was rough--a deep cleaning that made my eyes tear. Dr. Smith did the cleaning himself, and kept a nice, calm chatter. I hate Dr.'s of any kind who do not explain what they are doing to you; Dr.Smith let me know what was going on but also kept me focused on other things so I didn't have a panic attack ;)
I was interested in some cosmetic dentistry and we discussed my options. It seemed I was going to have to have a root canal before any bonding or veneers. An expensive undertaking for one without insurance, but I was willing and he offered a payment plan. My next visit was for fillings. Following the treatment we talked about the root canal. He did a further assessment and concluded that we could do the bonding/veneer without the root canal. It was very heartening to have a Dr. lead me to a less expensive option.
Dr. Smith and the staff as a whole has been consistently fantastic in treatment and customer service. I had one of my front teeth bonded, and when recently asked which on, I forgot and couldn't tell in the mirror!

Fast, friendly, does a good job. Accomodating office hours. Takes Blue Shield. Friendly office staff.
Criticism: No "bedside manner", but I don't need that. Doesn't engage the patient.
Note: I really liked a dentist I had once that had a TV on for you while she worked. Kept you mind off the procedure and kept you relaxed.
