Dr. Brough is an excellent endodontist and my root canal treatment was completely successful. His office and staff were fine, and he is a very nice person - warm, kind and gentle - and made me feel very comfortable despite my condition (I had a severe infection and I was taking painkillers and antibiotics). Alas, the procdure itsef was extremely uncomfortable and once it was over and I tried getting up from the chair, just as the Demerol's effect was waning, I almost fainted from the pain. If you are susceptible to pain, make sure to let him know so that he can give you a stronger painkiller dose.
A root canal it is going to hurt, regardless of who your doctor is. And if the tooth is infected, it is going to be worse. But as far as my experience goes, Dr. Brough is probably among the best endodontists in this town. I highly recommend him.

Dr Brough is a very kind man- extremely gentle and patient with me- a first time root canal patient. Very good for people afraid of the dentist! There was no pain at all- none.
As others mentioned, the staff is wonderful, and they were very gracious with a payment plan that fit my budget.
My only issue is that my $$$ inital treatment had to be re-done 9 months later.

Dr. Brough was recommended by my regular dentist for a series of root canals. While root canals are never fun, he worked to get them over with as quickly as possible.
His staff is very friendly and willing to work with you on payment plans.

I have been to Dr. Brough for a few root canals. He is very patient and explains the procedures to you. This helps me to understand about root canals. Therefore, I am not scare.
Although, a tad bit expensive, their office is willing to work a payment plan with you.
Over all experience is wonderful and the staff is also great !

I've been to Dr. Brough for 4 root-canals. Both he as well as his staff are exceptional!!! Tad bit expensive though...but what do you expect when you have a view overlooking the Union Sq in SF.
