I typically don't like going to the dentist. Who does though? Anyway, it's been over 3 years since my last treatment and with much apprehension, I finally went with some coaxing by my brother. My first visit they tell me I have 3 fillings that I need to get. (I probably should have went to the dentist sooner...) So I went in for my first visit and had my first "deep" filling done. Of course, with that, I needed to get a shot to "ease" the pain. To my surprise I didn't feel a thing --- the shot and the filing was a piece of cake --no pain whatsoever. I had to go back in for another two fillings today and I was in and out; just like that. No pain, no nothing. I actually left the office with a smile on my face and can actually say that I look forward to my next visit the dentist. Thank you Dr. Devigal and to his wife, Joy, for making my return back to the dentist a happy one.

I've gone to Alex Devigal for years & was referred by the previous senior dentist who ran the practice & had Devigal take it over. My experiences with both are not just the best dental work I've received, but the best all around experience & results from all the medical practitioners I've been to. Alex Devigal is able to handle extremely complicated and irregular cases with deftness & ease, --& always has both the best of *both* traditional methods to offer --*as well* as the best of alternatives for those who have allergies to certain chemicals, --or if they are unable to undergo a traditional procedure & need to know 'all' the options available & explain & advise in a way that's easy to understand , & decide what's best for you. He's genuniely friendly, & always interested in what is best for the patient & will make them the happiest, --as opposed to making recommendations so that he'll make more money. He's very popular & there is often a longer wait to get an appointment than with other dentists, --but its worth it for the quality of the work & being able to go to a dentist that you can trust. I now live in Southern CA, but I travel up to Berkeley for my dentistry, because its rare to feel in such good hands!

Dr. DeVigal has been treating me for over 6 years! I have never felt more comfortable with a dentist in my life. The staff is friendly and the hygienists really educate me on proper at-home cleaning techniques. The procedures are painless and the doctor makes sure that you understand exactly what is going on. Dr. DeVigal is not a pushy dentist and really has the conservation on your teeth in mind. He is not into a lot of cosmetic work being done on healthy teeth. The chairside manner is excellent. I have never heard so much laughing in a dental office (of all places). Patient comfort is a priority at the office.

I was a patient for several years, and in general satisfied with this doctor except for one instance when the result was not as good as expected. Now I am looking for a second opinion

I've been a patient for nine years now, and Dr. DeVigal is the best dentist I've ever had. His expertise and committment to discovering and implementing the latest technologies are matched by his charm and the professionalism of his office staff. His dental hygenists are also the best! And, moreover, he's very conveniently located, in a charming former residence at the top of Solano, on the Alameda.
