Ted is a warm guy and a very honest dentist. If you don't need the work, he will not push it on you. I had a small cavity he kept watch on for 10 years and never decided to drill because it hadn't grown. Well, I still have the little micro-cavity happily unfilled.
I started seeing him in college and got great service, never needed a change.

Ted has been my dentist for around thirty years, as I don't have the date I first sat in his dental chair written down. He has done some great work on my very poorly taken care of teeth. For most of my early life I did not take good care of my teeth and I am paying the "cost" of that now. I also had a bicycle accident where I lost my top front teeth and Ted did four implants including extending the "stubs" of the broken teeth so the implant posts would be properly seated. The man is very good.

Ted is a great dentist. He is kind, funny, and great with children. I have been going to him for over 16 years and he makes going to the dentist at least a little more fun.

Dr. Hochstein is a great guy. I've been going to him since I was a child. I've tried other dentists and have always come back to Dr. Hochstein. He's fair, honest and ethical. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ted Hochstein provides the best dental care for the best price in a congenial atmosphere. In the 30 years that Dr. Hochstein has been my dentist, his work has never been less than perfect. He seems to have equal attention for the functional excellence of his work, aesthetics, client comfort, and the clients checkbook. He is also very considerate with my time. Whenever there is a decision of any sort to be made, he has spent considerable time with me to make sure I understand my options, and the tradeoffs that go with each option. His calm competence, steady hands, low-key humor, and personal warmth are a godsend for a jumpy person with a low pain threshold such as myself. He continually educates me on the best practices and aids for my personal dental care. His staff offers the same remarkable mix of warmth and professionalism. The facility is pleasant, well-maintained, and well-designed for client needs. The most unusual touch is a collection of fine art prints on the ceiling of each treatment room for your viewing pleasure as you have your teeth cleaned. The staff will also provide you with earphones and a wide selection of CDs to listen to at your request. Dr. Hochstein is the gold standard of professional care.

Dr. Hochstein is very attentive and informative and passionate about the state of your teeth. He even peforms cleaning from time to time so you know he is paying attention to you. It's rare to get this level of attention from a dentist.

Dr. Hochstein has been my dentist for over 25 years with only a few years break when I moved away. I was glad to return to the east bay and to Dr. Hochstein. He is professional but not pretentious or distant. His staff is also pleasant including a very diligent hygenist. The offices are simple but do the job. I was put off by the swank offices of another dentist I went to when I lived in the Silicon Valley.
