Mandible bone grafts failed. I later learned that significant bone loss requires an iliac crest procedure (hip donor) and has a better success rate. Dr. Hiser requires another surgeon to remove the hip graft thus making the iliac crest procedure cost prohibitive. Fortunately, there are other oral surgeons in the San Diego are who can do both removal and grafting. Get a second opinion!
