Read Reviews for Dr. Jeffrey Gitelman
I would like to share my experience with Dr. Gitelman at Washington Oral Surgery. If you choose to see Dr. Gitelman, I will bet my life you will end up complaining on Yelp because you are absolutely helpless against his billing tactics. When I first visited his office, I was told I would be only billed for my x-ray. Little did I know, there was a 75 dollar "IV Consultation" (Dr. Gitelman told me not to eat anything the day of, which constitutes a 75 dollar charge), a 125 dollar "Problem focused consultation" which is a 10 minute video they will make you watch (Guarantee you don't even pay attention), as well as a 150 dollar appointment cancellation charge resulting from once I got online and read all of the horror stories from people who have had Dr. Gitelman and are currently facing collections because of his dishonest billing practices. This man is also extremely rude and has an attitude. He will treat you with zero respect and i'm willing to bet my life he will spend no more than 3 minutes looking at your x-ray and speaking with you. This man cares about nothing more than his profit margin, you are nothing but a revenue source to him and you will be billed as such.
For your sake, avoid this heartless man at all costs.
About Front Desk: Dishonest. When asked if I would be billed for anything other than my x-ray, The woman at the front desk told me I would not. Two weeks later I get the bill stated above.

I have never been so ridiculed about money I'm owed. AFTER A YEAR THEY STILL OWED ME $540.00!!!
This is ridiculous. Especially after we sat for hours on the phone listening to my insurance company explain clearly what I'm responsible for.

Dr. Gitelman is simply the best! I had my upper, and three years later, lower wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Gitelman. Dr. Gitelman is a true professional. You know you are in good hands once he walks into the room. Both of my extractions were done with local anesthesia fast, painlessly, and with no discomfort. Aside from being a professional (I prefer a professional dentist to a compassionate dentist), Dr. Gitelman is extremely nice. He takes the time to explain your options, answers your questions, and give you alternatives. I am usually never 100% satisfied with medical doctors, but Dr. Gitelman is excellent.

I went to Dr. Gitelman to have two of my wisdom teeth removed. they were both impacted and causing me a lot of pain. From the very first consultation Dr Gitelman was very sweet and kind. Very reassuring and confident. Told me how long the procedure would take and all the risks involved. And he was true to his word. i was in and out of the office in 25 minutes. The extraction was easy breezy, especially for impacted teeth. I have had my other teeth removed by another doctor and the whole process was infernal. I had expected to be in pain after the surgery based on my previous experience. But nothing! Very minimal swelling. Only very little dull pain on the second day. AND I only took two of the codeine I was prescribed. I would recommend him to anyone that needs need this procedure done. After the surgery I wanted to hug him! but that wouldn't be appropriate.

Very, very good. I am satisfied. Tooth extraction (wisdom teeth) isnt supposed to be warm and fuzzy. Dr Gitelman made it quick and painless. This guy KNOWS his stuff.
Fantastic!

was sworn at and kicked out of appt bc i let him know that i was not happy with the following: waiting outside of a locked office door with 12 other patients, all of whom had 2 o'clock appts; and waiting one hour for my own appt.

I had my wisdom teeth removed at this office. While I was happy with the service, the professionalism and the conduct of their staff could not have been worse. I was invoiced an additional $600 a year and half after services. I called for an explanation and they said it was an insurance adjustment (that the insurance company didn't pay as much as they though they were going to). After speaking with my insurance company, I realized the confusion was because the office staff did not submit anything for payment until a year after services. When I pointed this out, they said "there's nothing we can do about that, it's how we do business". I hope no one that reads this chooses to do business with them. I have never had worse customer service in my life.

I went for an extraction and during half the procedure because i told him Dr this is paining a lot ...he threw up his arms and walked out in a huff. No joke ,told the nurse "give him his money back I cant help him."
with my mouth bleeding ,my head totally woozy and me biting my own tongue several times i negotiated the traffic on 270 N. I nearly had a fatal accident thanks to my delayed actions and mouth full of blood .
The check in staff is ill -trained ..The nurse (dental assistant s )are good . Doctor on the other hand is an absolute rude gruff man,has no chair-side He is a very old man who needs to retire ,he is bored ,tired and careless ....a lot has changed in this field since 1980 when he got one of the awards on the wall.

As far as the dentist goes, he was very professional and quick, but when it came to the billing process I was billed for a procedure that I didn't have and when I called the office to get the situation straight the office manager was very nasty and I still haven't received my money back, so I guess you can say that they are fraudulent also.

Terrible treatment. Dr. Gitelman himself is a nice person, but his office staff is terrible. They are poorly trained and incapable of correctly treating patients.
Stress, anxiety, and pain like never before. Didn't sleep for a week after my operation because of the pain (and their refusal to prescribe proper pain medication).
Had to go see another dentist to correct their mistakes and finally heal and recover.
