Professional, he is interesting if a bit opinionated. What really matters is that he cares about doing the best job dentistry can provide, and will do everything possible to give you great care.

Excellent Dentist! I have been a patient of Dr Kaufman for over 30 years. He never keeps me waiting and I trust him to only recommend dental work that I need.
I am now 68 years old and have great teeth and gums and practice good dental hygiene due to his and Kim's nudging.

Dr. Mark Kaufman has provided comprehensive dental care for me and my family for many, many years. We have always found him to be very thorough and precise in the care that he gives. He always takes the time to explain exactly what will be involved in the procedures, often with drawings as he discusses the situation. He engages you in a personal way with his conversation and takes a genuine interest in your life. His wife, Kim, who provides assistance and runs the office, is just as pleasant and a perfect partner to the team. We wish that all health care was provided in such a personable manner and with such concern for our well being. Many a time has Dr. Kaufman come in beyond office hours to provide treatment for us because that was the best option for the outcome. We really appreciate his extra efforts and look forward to healthy teeth for a long time to come.

Dr. Kaufman and Kim are great. I actually look forward to getting a check up so I can catch up with them. I feel that they genuinely care about their patients lives, besides genuinely caring for our teeth.
One of the things I like most about Dr. Kaufman is he does whatever is necessary to eplain why certain procedures are needed, even drawing picutres of tooth anatomy. I have had to have crown lengthening procedures to replace old fillings and shoddy crown work from previous dentists and he has made sure to prepare me both mentally and physically for those crowns. Crown lengthening certianly isn't fun, but the crowns he has done not only look better but my gums around them are much more healhty than my older dental work.
He is the first dentist I have had who has asked me about my general health and any medications I take to make sure I don't experience any adverse reactions and to advise me about potential issues.
I would definitely recommend him.

I had gone a long time without seeing a dentist when I first saw Dr. Kaufman, and I was apprehensive at best. Dr. Kaufman's calm and relaxed manner immediately put me at ease. He takes the time to explain each procedure and the reasons that it is needed. During any procedure I've had, he makes sure that I am comfortable throughout the process. He always follows up with me afterward to make sure that there is no discomfort and all is going as planned.
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kaufman to anyone who needs a dentist. My wife and I have been seeing him for over 20 years, and we are very happy with all that he has done for us.

Driving from Palmdale to Burbank for a dentist might seem extreme except that Dr. Kaufman is simply the best dentist that I have ever had in my life! At every visit he has provided excellent work as well as explanations for any procedure beyond cleaning. Dr. Kaufman and his wife, Kim, schedule appointments so that one does not need to wait upon arriving on time for the appointment. He is efficient, professional, and takes the time to learn who you are as a person, not merely a mouth full of teeth. Without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Kaufman to anyone who is seeking a dentist whose focus is on the human being as his patient!

I have known Dr. Kaufman for over 12 years. He is one of the most thorough, conscientious doctors of any specialty that I have had. Dr. Kaufman explains everything clearly to the patient, is open to questions, and is honest and forthright. My children have been seeing him since they were very young, and I believe this accounts for the fact that they are conscientious with their own dental health (they are now 20 years old), and would never want to go to another dentist, even though one of them is away at college. Both Dr. Kaufman and his assistant are lovely, caring, compassionate people. I recommend Dr. Kaufman to anyone who wants a positive dental experience.

I moved away from the Burbank, CA area where his practice is located and now live some distance from his office. I ended up having work done by another dentist because I didn't want to drive so far. Big mistake! Long story short: I regretted having another dentist do one of my root canals and a crown. I regretted it a lot -- much more than I could ever adequately convey in this review.
I went to get it fixed by Dr. Kaufman, and I now go all the way across town to See Dr. Kaufman as needed.
He is exceptionally capable at handling sensitivities and special issues, special health concerns, etc. He does crown lengthening procedures that other dentists don't even mention or offer. This means crown stay on, don't come loose, and don't get decay going underneath.
I've recommended him to others, and they feel the same about him. He has been voted Best of Burbank several times, and for obvious good reason. I simply cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this dental office.

Dr. Kaufman is a very good practitioner with poor bedside manner. He is highly opinionated, and speaks condescendingly to both staff and patients if they do not meet his expectations - which occasionally are unreasonable (i.e., not being able to hear his request from another room.) The final results of his work are good, but it can be an emotionally challenge to get there.
His wife, Kim, is his assistant and she is a sweetheart - which makes the patients all the more uncomfortable when he speaks poorly to her.
