I had pain in the upper and lower molars on one side. Being new in the area, I had not been to Dr. Tong but had a recommendation from another dentist. He squeezed me into his schedule and correctly identified which tooth was causing the problem. He got me squeezed into a very good endodontist.who did started a root canal only to discover extensive decay in the tooth root. The tooth needs to be extracted. I returned to Dr. Tong to discuss options and he carefully explained them.
The only issue I have is that his x-ray equipment is the old kind, not the newer equipment with significantly lower radiation.

Dr. Tong has done a root canal, 2 crowns, and your basic dental cleanings etc. He is great, I trust his opinion and have never had any pain. Will continue going to Dr. Tong as long as I am in SF.

Dr Tong is an easy going person with loads of personality to make you comfortable when your doing a check up. I like that he notices your mood and tries to smooth you in the process. He is also very efficient in terms how much gets done in a little time. I had some cleaning and filling done and he did pretty fast. i like that because I dont want to waste my time and mess up my day by going to the dentist.
The people who work there are pretty nice especially the receptionist who sorted out my expenses and insurance quickly. I do like the office for its always clean and I know it may not sound important but it smells nice as well.
The office is a bit out of the way for me but its reachable thru many bus lines as it located directly on Van Ness. I highly recommend this doctor. Especially to those who have some anxiety going to dentists

Dr. StanleyTong has been treated me for over 10 years and I am completely happy with my teeth everytime I leave his office. He is the best and his staff is efficient, kind and courteous too!

Dr. Tong has been my dentist for a number of years and he's without a doubt, the absolute best dentist I've ever had, bar none. The telling factor is he has the same loyal and friendly staff and they remember you and the tinest details about you when you come by for a cleaning. It's like a family and I highly recommend the highly professional and highly personable Dr. Tong.

The best old fashioned dentistry in San Francisco. Great staff and wonderful doctor. Highly recommended. Keep up the good work Dr. Tong.

Okay, so I'm another big fan of Dr. Tong's. He's a darling person, a great dentist and I actually look forward to going to see him--a first, since past dentists have not exactly been my favorite people. He really takes an interest in his patients, remembers what's going on in your life and treats you with respect. His office isn't fancy--but he has everything you might need for a pleasant experience. The real draw is of course Dr. Tong himself and his very nice staff. They've fit me in at a moment's notice without a fuss, are always very friendly, but not intrusive. An A++ for Dr. Tong.

I LOVE Dr. Tong! I've been going to him for over 13 years. Although my plan is free if I stay inside the plan but I choose to go outside even though I have to pay just so that I can keep Dr. Tong as my dentist. I will NEVER switch dentists for as long as Dr. Tong is around. He is an overall wonderful person and treats you with such great care and understanding. He looks out after you. He's done root canals, crown's, etc. and I had very very minimal pain. He's gentle and makes you feel so comfortable. His staff is great too!

Dr. Tong is such a lovely person and always explains exactly what he is doing and why. It's great to have such a friendly and professional dentist!
