I was referred to Dr. Beadnell to have a wisdom tooth pulled. Since I was concerned about nerve damage I asked him what the chances are that this could happen, (and how the after care would be), just in case. I was not prepared for what came next: He told me “Whatever happens is never the surgeons fault.” He then proceeded to tell me stories about what other patients had accused him of. He ended his lecture by asking, "If the light suddenly fell off the ceiling, would you accuse me of that as well?” I could not believe what I was hearing, and knew from that moment on that I would not let him touch my mouth. He told me to make an appointment with the front desk and his assistant would give me a prescription for antibiotics. I asked her if this is necessary and she told me: “Everyone gets them”. I went to the front desk to pay my bill and was charged 50% more than I was quoted for the evaluation (no extra time or tests were done). When I complained, I was told that the woman I got the quote from is not here today and I would have to pay the full amount. I just wanted to get out of there, so I paid the full amount and left, never to return. I'm only writing this review to warn others never to go to this practice, ever.

FRAUDULENT???
Estimate for surgery was very inaccurate (they even stated that they checked with my insurance). 2-3 days before my daughter's surgery, we received a bill for about triple the estimate. I tried to explain to the office and Dr. Beadnell himself that we did not have an extra $500 sitting around and could not get it on so short of notice. The office took no responsibility claiming that my insurance had changed (absolutely not true). Dr. Beadnell was rude and unresponsive to my emails. He complained about loss of income due to the cancelled surgery. He refused to even respond to my concerns through the Better Business Bureau as well. DR. BEADNELL, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!!! (Yes, 9 months down the road writing this review, I am still very angry.)
Other than feeling like I was lied to and cheated, the office was very nice.

Hello everyone.
My oral surgeon, Dr. Beadnell, is a super hero. No, seriously, I really mean that. Here is the story: About 6 months ago I chipped my tooth. Fast forward about 6 months: I was in excruciating pain and I thought I was dying. My left jaw was swollen. My primary dentist office (also very, very nice folks) referred me here because my jaw doesn't open wide enough for them to extract the tooth. Beadnell and his team of super awesome nurses and receptionists treated me kind from start to finish. His was very fast, made sure I was comfortable, didn't cause me pain and was very happy and not the typical "solemn" and stern dentist or doctor. He kept cracking jokes. I told him he was a super hero. I was in excruciating pain and now I feel a million times better. Seriously. This is the first time I have ever used this website and I am so happy to do so, seriously, because he (and all his really nice nurses and receptionists) deserves it 100,000,000% [thats a 100 million percent!]. I have nothing but love and recommendations for Steven Beadnessl and his entire office. Sincerely, D.S. also known as "T" :) p.s. I tried to submit this review with all 4 stars. But droogle states I can only rate a "3" in "cost"

This was the best experience that I've had (with any medical professional) in my entire life!!!!
Why? For starters, Dr. Beadnell treats you like family--not just a patient. He is very patient and thorough at explaining the proposed procedures and pros and cons of both. In the process, he carefully and thoughtfully answers your questions. The best part? Dr. Beadnell is obviously a highly skilled, experienced and educated surgeon, but he doesn't come across with the "Big I Little You ego/attitude" that is so common with physicians of his calibre. Put simply, he just lets his surgical skills do the talking! In fact, I had a root canal break off (deeply) below the gum. He removed it with such skill and attention to minimizing trauma, that I did not have to take a single pain pill!!!! Finally, his staff--and I mean the entire crew--bring the same ethic and spirit of service to making sure you are comfortable and cared for. This matters a lot to me, since I'm a 6 foot 3, 270 pound veteran who (prior to Dr. Beadnell) was more afraid of dental work than getting shot at!
Now, I can honestly say, that I don't carry the old childhood fear of dental work anymore.
Thanks Dr. Beadnell

I needed two teeth extracted, one was totally broken off at the gum and the other was broken half off at the gum, both in back. Dr Beadnell and his staff were wonderful. It was totally painless, they gave me an IV and I only had to take one pain pill when I got home and then no pain from there. They give detailed instructions on what to do, and it healed fast. I took antibiotics because one tooth was invected and had given me a sinus infection. I cannot say enough about how smoothly this procedure went. I am now not fearful of dentists, it was easy. I must say this was the best customer experience of any company I have encountered in Portland. Les Schwab was #1, followed by American Chimney, but now Dr. Beadnell is #1, in fact I give him a 10+. It was a busy office and I can see why he is so popular. Extremely clean office, the shiniest floors and bathroom anywhere. If every company in America were run this well, we would not be in a recession. The nurses listen and have good people skills and Dr. Beadness is a funny guy, so that relaxed me more. During the IV, you are partially awake but do not care what he is doing or feel anything, next thing I knew I was waking up and biting on gauze.

Dr. Beadnell and his staff were excellent. It's only been 3 days after my procedure and I am very happy with the results. My symptoms were not as severe as I expected. The morning of my procedure and on my initial I was taken in and prepped without waiting long at all. I loved the assistant that was there the day of my first visit and procedure. She was easy to talk to and I never felt uncomfortable. I definitely recommend this office!!!
