I started out with Dr. Muir, my parents and I did not know that he was getting ready to retire. Then Dr. Amer took over the business. With Dr. Muir appointments were always on time and all the workers were very nice. Once Dr. Amer took over, the office was always PACKED and appointments would be 30-40 minutes late. He did a wonderful job on my smile, but I did not appriciate paying so much and getting such crappy service. Once you get your braces off you are supposed to go every 6 months for a retainer check. Most orthodontists you are a patient for life, but Dr. Amer makes you pay $50 every simple retainer check!! Needless to say we stopped going to him. Thankfully our family friend works at Dr. Black's ortodontist office in Scotts Valley. Dr. Black heard about Dr. Amer charging me and my parents and had me come in and did a retainer check for me for FREE! Because he said its such a simple appointment that it should be free. I would highly recomend Dr. Black, but not Dr. Amer. He made my smile beautiful, but I think that he is a money greedy man!!
