I went to Dr. Dann after a friend recommended me to him. On the very first day after 15 minutes of initial diagnosis, he recommended a treatment at a cost of $4,000. Instead of allowing me to pay as I go, he made me sign a contract with Chase Health Advance and billed me for the entire amount even before the treatment began. What if I don't like the results? Tough. He got paid. No refunds. Why do they need 10+ staff running around? Except for one or two, I don't know what the rest of the staff does. If you ask a question, they say "oh, I don't know. That's not my job, you have to ask so and so." And when you do ask the "so & so", she looks at you like she can't be bothered. When the doctor finally comes around, he appears as though he is timing himself so that he does not spend more than 5 minutes with you. The other day, I waited for him for 20 minutes; he comes by, spends 3 minutes with you and goes away. It takes me more than 30 minutes to get there, I spend 20 minutes waiting, the doctor spends all of 3 minutes talking to you and then I have to drive 30 minutes back home. They take all these pictures of your face plus x-ray but you never get copies of them. Neither do they ever tell you what they did and what improved. I am afraid to ask questions because half the time they act like they can't be bothered or they just want to bite your head off. Most of the time there are at most 3 or 4 patients in the doctor's office but the 10 or more staff members all run around like chicken without head doing God knows what. I was SO looking forward to the "perfect" smile or close to it but after all that money and treatment, I don't see any HUGE differences. My teeth were not too bad to begin with so there really was not much to fix but you would think you would see some major improvements after $4,000 and years of treatment. My MAIN reason for the visit was to get my teeth aligned and straightened. Guess what, if you look close enough, my teeth are STILL misaligned and crooked. I mentioned it to the doctor & he said that is the best he could do & it's not going to get much better. I even offered to spend more time to get my teeth straightened if needed, but basically he said I was done and there was nothing else he could do, even though I am not 100% happy with the results. Besides, he got paid, why he would want to spend the extra time and effort when he is not going to get any additional payments from me. I looked up the number of dentists within the Metro Orlando area and there are literally HUNDREDS of them. The competition is REALLY stiff. I regret not having done my homework. Do your research! Dr. Dann does NOT show up in the ranks as one of the best Orthodontists in Orlando. Call up different doctors and ask for cost estimates and treatment plans. Research them on the internet and read their reviews. See what other people have to say. I did NOT do my homework and now I regret it. There is a reason why magazines and independent web-sites have patients submit reviews so that people like me don't make mistakes. I am writing this lengthy review since it is too late for me to get my money back and there is really not much I can do, but hopefully my review will help those considering Dr. Dann to think twice. Except for plastic surgery, orthodontics is one of the best things you can do to invest in yourself. Not only does it make you look good but it is better for your health (less teeth problems in the future). If you are going to get your teeth fixed, get it fixed properly from the best doctor without spending a fortune!
