So where do I start...?
1. Appointments should be monthly (4-6wks) instead of 8-12wks which is what they do.
The longer braces are on the greater risk of damage. So why not see a patient more often? You risk white spots, caries, root resorption, etc.
time could be cut down to half if patient have more frequent appointments.
2. Breakages:
I get it, Patients should be more careful with them but sometimes things just happen... so why not take the time to fix the brace. It takes 10 mins tops to fix 4 broken braces. So 1 or 2 broken braces will take no time at all. He has a certified assistant that can prep the patient and even do the procedure herself if she has had the experience. Not fixing the breakages right then and there only delays the treatment....
3. I also feel that some of his techniques are antiquated. Times change- he should update too!
Hope this helps anyone looking for an orthodontist..
